Database Administrator
POSITION SUMMARY
BillGO is looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our DBA team within the Cloud Engineering team. The DBA manages, backs-up, and ensures the availability of the data produced and consumed by BillGO. The DBA is a critical role to ensure the database structure is available to developers and secure from unauthorized access. This role will participate in an on-call rotation.

- Manages and designs the RDBMS for cloud-based enterprise environments
- Assist with SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Tests and documents database disaster recovery procedures
- Develops and manages tools for performance monitoring and alerting
- Performs database backups, restores, and recovery
- Supports data migration and analytics for related services
- Responds to and resolves database-related outages
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience working with RDBMS, preferably MySQL and Amazon Webservices (AWS)
- Strong understanding of SQL and query performance
- Basic knowledge of RDBMS theory and design best practices
- Linux general administration skills and shell scripting
- Hands-on experience working with AWS
- Exposure to non-relational database types such as key/value, document, and in-memory
- Passion for problem solving and analysis
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong desire for continuous learning and development
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- NoSQL database experience (DynamoDB, CosmosDB, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Experience with at least one programming language (Java, Python, Go, etc.)
Salary range for this position is $92,700 - $120,000
