How will this role have an impact?

The Data Steward reports to the Manager of Data Quality. The Data Steward is a point of contact responsible for managing operational initiatives related to the handling of inbound and outbound data files. The Data Steward will utilize reports, dashboards, and established tooling to initiate automated alerts and ensure timely receipt and delivery of files to clients and partners.  The Data Steward is responsible for communication with Data Quality team members, as well as other teams within the organization to ensure appropriate follow-up when potential issues with file generation and/or delivery are identified. When necessary, the Data Steward is responsible for capturing information and entering service request tickets into a ticketing system. 

The Data Steward will work closely with Data Quality Analysts on data governance related items, such as data lineage documentation, project coordination, and audit compliance items. The role provides an opportunity to get exposed to a number of technical disciplines within Data Quality, as well as to relevant facets and disciplines of the healthcare landscape.

What will you do?

• Monitor DQ dashboards and other DQ tools to:
  • Establish alerts to stakeholders
  • Follow up through various forms of verbal and written communication
  • Understand critical issues and prioritize and escalate appropriately
  • Complete monthly deliverable reconciliation duties
• Experience with JIRA - Entering and monitoring stories/tickets
• Work closely with the Data Governance team on a wide variety of items including Data Lineage documentation, compliance audit duties, policy and procedure reviews, etc.
• Work with other teams, product owners, and technical resources outside of Data Quality when necessary.

We are looking for someone with:

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proficient in SQL - Ability to write basic queries to read and inspect data
• Exceptional organizational skill is a must
• Proficiency in Office / Google suite
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork and negotiation
• PSA / Agile experience preferred

Experience Requirements:

• A bachelors in computer science or data-related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the healthcare space with key positions in being accountable for high levels of data quality and accuracy is preferred
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience writing queries to read and analyze data in a relational database such as SQL or Oracle.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience in working with users to understand business processes and data quality-affecting requirements
• Has experience in reporting progress of team activities to leadership with clear and concise attention to work performed, value provided and initiatives completed
• Has demonstrated significant skill required to work effectively across internal functional areas in situations where clear parameters may not exist
