As a Data Scientist at Gopuff, you'll build and deploy models for all sorts of highly important use cases - including predictive LTV, pricing optimization and elasticity, attribution, predictive inventory planning, operations optimization, etc. You will also drive changes that increase efficiencies and improve the customer experience. You'll have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future success of Gopuff.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data science
• MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, analytics, computer science or another quantitative field
• Hands-on experience applying descriptive statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and visualization techniques to solve challenging business problems
• Expert programming skills in R or Python
• Data querying skills in SQL
• Experience deploying models in a production environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to business stakeholders
• Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, PeriscopeData
• Move fast, be a team player, always be learning and give back

Responsibilities

• Guide and educate our business and engineering partners across the organization on data science concepts (e.g., statistics, machine learning)
• Work with the project leads to scope new opportunities for data science projects and implement advanced analytics solutions that become essential to our daily business operations
• Build models that support real-time events and internal stakeholder decisions across the business - from Marketing and Merchandising to Operations and Supply Chain
• Drive adoption of data products and data science solutions into the planning process for investment decisions with finance and the leadership teams
• Identify gaps in existing data, create data product specs, and work with Engineering teams to implement enhanced data tracking
• Partner with Analytics team members and other functions to share insights and best practices, ensuring consistency of data-driven decision-making throughout the org
• Continuously strive for automation and productionalized solutions whenever possible
• Provide mentorship to those less experienced in data analytics
