SMX is seeking a Data Management Analyst is a Subject Matter Expert of the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) data and additionally identifies potential data quality issues, investigates root causes, and identifies/implements process and interface improvement recommendations. This position is remote supporting a Washington DC based team.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in complex SQL
  • Experience in data management and data governance
  • Experience conducting data analysis using applicable tools (e.g., Excel, MicroStrategy, R, Tableau, etc.)

Required Skills:

  • 6 years business Analytical skills - Ability to interpret business requirements into systems and technology language that can easily be understood by a technical audience and used to evaluate solutions

  • 5 years Technical Skills – Ability to understand and write SQL, experience with handling large datasets, testing and trouble-shooting skills; prior experience in relational data warehousing or ETL

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science 
  • 3 Years data Analysis - Ability to analyze, describe and evaluate data so as to be able to make meaning out of it, ability to become a data subject matter expert in specific area of focus
  • 3 Years functional specifications - Ability to study a business activity and explain how a technical solution would meet a given business requirement
  • General skills - Self-starter, strong communication and documentation skills, detail-oriented
  • PEPFAR, USAID, Global Health, Epidemiology data experience a plus
