Functional Summary

The Visa Direct Payment Success team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients and staff to improve portfolio and product performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences around the world. By coupling in-depth analysis of portfolio behavior with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world.

Position Summary

As part of the Visa Direct Client Services organization, the Data & Insights Analyst will help to deliver this vision to our clients across Latin America and Caribbean region. In this role, you will use strong analytical skills, contextual business sense and a creative flair to solve real world business challenges for Visa issuing banks, acquirers and merchants.

Responsibilities

This role derives analytic insights on client performance and helps to deliver findings from those analyses to external and internal stakeholders. Prior to completing an analysis, this role will formulate and source the necessary datasets from internal tools and platforms, rendering insights in compelling presentations and visualizations. Specific activities may include:

  • Create and present analytic deliverables to colleagues in the analytics team, other internal stakeholders with varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise as well as external Visa clients.
  • Get to an understanding of root problems, define analytical objectives and formalize data requirements for various types of analyses.
  • Combine and analyze disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment; independently perform analysis to render robust, thoughtful results.
  • Compare client performance against industry best practices with a shrewd eye toward identifying performance and/or profitability improvement opportunity.
  • Develop presentations of complex data and content for clients in an accurate, understandable, and engaging manner.
  • Manage entire performance improvement process, creating new initiatives and governance over implementation to meet regional performance improvement goals

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or an Advanced Degree (e. g. Master’s, MBA, JD, MD or PhD).
  • Must speak Fluent English and Spanish (Portuguese a Plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
  • 2 or more years of experience working in data analysis and/or insight delivery with a proven record of creating business value from data.
  • A 4-year college degree in a quantitative field.
  • Must be proficient in all MS Office applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • High level of proficiency manipulating data from a variety of sources - Big data skills (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL skills required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience visualizing data with tools like Tableau; advanced Tableau skills are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrixed organizations.
  • Understanding of payment technologies, including card authorization & clearing systems, is a plus.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets is a plus.

As part of the team, you will get opportunity to work on strategically important projects for clients and Visa.

  • Working with Product, Readiness and Sales teams to identify opportunities and leverage on internal tools and expertise and develop holistic solutions to help increase service quality, revenue and efficiency for clients
  • Understanding the new use cases and service requirements and coordinate internal resources to accomplish Visa and client objectives
  • Take part in onboarding of new Visa Direct merchant partners

This role is responsible for solving complex problems and taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
