INVISTA is seeking a Data Engineering Leader who is motivated to create virtuous cycles of mutual benefit with our partners. This can be accomplished through the means of developing data models that take data to insights that drive action to value. The Analytics Engineering Leader will lead the development, implementation, and on-going governance of INVISTA's Enterprise Data Lake and data models.

This role will be a leader in the INVISTA Data & Analytics team that provides enablement for traditional reporting and advanced analytics throughout INVISTA. This is accomplished through efficient ingest, storage, and consumption of data. The industries served are manufacturing and commercial. In this role you will identify and enable Modern data architecture and strategies & create opportunities for meta-data driven frameworks and data pipeline for all business partners including Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Science and R&D.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead a team of data and analytics engineers as they:
    • Work with business partners to understand key business drivers and use that knowledge to experiment and transform Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics solutions to capture the value of potential business opportunities
    • Translate business process/problems into conceptual and logical data models and proposed technical implementation plans
    • Develop and implementing consistent processes for data modeling, mining, and production
    • Focus on implementing development processes and tools that allow for the collection of metadata, access to metadata, in a way that allows for widespread code reuse (e.g., utilization of ETL Frameworks, Generic Metadata driven Tools, shared data dimensions, etc.) and enables impact analysis as well as source to target tracking and reporting
    • Improve data pipeline reliability, scalability, and security


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or CS or an industry equivalent
  • Experience supervising, coaching and leading a team to accomplish tactical and strategic goals
  • Experience with SQL, developing, deploying and modeling Data Warehouses (Snowflake or similar) and Data pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS or similar)
  • Experience with Extract-Transform-And-Load (ETL) tools building complex data pipelines
  • Experience communicating technical ideas/solutions to technical and non-technical team members
  • Experience with data visualization and statistical tools (PowerBI preferred)
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages like Python, R, etc.



What Will Put You Ahead

  • 2+ years of supervisory leadership experience
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, developing, deploying and modeling Data Warehouses (Snowflake or similar) and Data pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS or similar)
  • 2+ years of experience in the Amazon Web Services stack experience including S3, Athena, Redshift, Glue, or Lambda .
  • Experience using git-based source control management platforms (Gitlab, GitHub, DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with business and technical requirement analysis, elicitation, data modeling, verification, and methodology development
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud data warehousing solutions including Snowflake with developing in and implementation of dimensional modeling
  • Experience developing with docker and a Kubernetes environment (would be a plus)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with Graph databases will be an advantage
