About this Opportunity:
Our first Data Engineer will enable quality data insights for all areas of Popmenu’s business. You will sit on the engineering team and work collaboratively with a small team of functional analysts to build and maintain an enterprise level data model designed to scale with the business. Joining the team during an exciting period of rapid growth, the right candidate must be willing to take ownership of their projects and will exhibit a passion to enable others with fresh, accurate data.
What's on Your Plate
- Building the Foundation: You will build and maintain data pipelines from internal databases and 3rd party SaaS applications to develop a Single Source of Truth data model for analytics use across the business.
- Raising the Bar: You will work with data champions from all departments to develop processes for measuring, monitoring, and addressing data integrity challenges that prevent us from generating meaningful insights.
- Applying Your Mastery: You will be a partner in building out Popmenu’s data governance strategy and will contribute creative ideas to enriching our data in new ways.
- Enabling Our Business: You will work with a results-oriented approach to provide appropriate data to serve specific business needs.
Bottom Line: You will be responsible for making sure stakeholders across the business have access to accurate, reliable, and timely data as it relates to their functions, and you will have a central voice in conversations around the future of data governance at Popmenu.
What You Bring to the Table
- 4+ years professional hands-on software development experience, with a degree in Computer Science or years of equivalent experience.
- Experience collaborating with data analysts, architects, software engineers, and business partners.
- Expertise in building data lakes and data warehouses from internal application databases and SaaS application APIs, for example, Salesforce, GoogleAnalytics, and Marketo.
- Experience with Snowflake/Snowplow is a huge plus, as that is our primary data collection solution.
- Proven success with use of advanced SQL, and with building efficient, accurate databases.
- Expertise with some data modeling frameworks and ETL best practices.
- Excellent textual and oral communication skills, willingness to challenge assumptions and collaborate with partners in all aspects of our business.
- You consistently provide documentation and visual models as part of your deliverables.
- You write well-tested, changeable code, and you can tune it for performance.
At Popmenu we believe in transparency and meeting candidates at eye-level. We know that money isn’t everything - but it is important. For this role, we have determined a compensation range of $135k to $155k in addition to company equity to be a fair and attractive offer.
