Job Overview

This opportunity is within IQVIA's AIR COE for a Data Engineer position on IQVIA's IQ 20/20 reporting platform team. As a Data Engineer you will find trends in data sets and use your skills to transform raw data and make it more useful to our clients. This position is a technical position which requires an extensive knowledge of SQL query writing. This position will also require strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across multiple internal departments and with clients directly. This position requires the Data Engineer to fully understand and implement the provided data requirements in order to deliver the insights our clients are looking to obtain from IQVIA's datasets

Essential Functions

  • Build the framework required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL
  • Analyze and assemble large, complex datasets to meet the client's needs by designing, building, testing, maintaining/modifying pre-existing or new custom BI implementations
  • Work collaboratively with the client and internal teams to understand the business needs and identify any gaps or concerns
  • Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide high level ETL processing documentation to be incorporated into the Business Requirements Documentation


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related discipline, or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience required
  • Five (5) years experience in SQL query writing
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL required, familiarity with C# and XML preferred
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with git as a version control system preferred
