About the job
The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Data Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work on solutions supporting the Marketing Analytics team. You will work across teams, and across departments to build, test, deploy, and maintain solutions. You will become a subject matter expert in our evolving data models in support of feature requests, stakeholder questions, and downstream data model support. As a Data Engineer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at once, which involve stakeholders across a global company. You should have high attention to detail and a desire to learn working with new tools. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain SQL queries in a containerized Python environment and develop and maintain workflows in a managed airflow environment
- Expand production extract, transform, and load (ETL) with new tables, columns, and features
- Monitor ETL pipeline with data quality checks and investigate and follow up on issues
- Perform exploratory analysis new tables and columns using SQL
- Expand documentation around business rule definitions, KPI metrics, and ETL data pipeline
- Manage updates to production analytics tables in Amazon Redshift and store and visualize ETL logs
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field or a bachelor's degree with demonstrated coding experience
- 2+ years of experience building calculated metrics using SQL aggregations
- 1+ year(s) of Python programming experience
- Experience with Git, Amazon S3, Airflow, JBoss Data Virtualization, Alteryx, Tableau, REST APIs, and Amazon Redshift is a plus
- Experience with data modeling like previously built analytics apps with tools like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Qlik Sense is a plus
