Data Engineer - TS/SCI + Polygraph

Our work depends on a Data Engineer joining our team to support client activities in Chantilly, VA.
At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Data Engineer supporting client activities, you will be trusted to work with Big Data, ETL, SQL, PL/SQL and Cloud technology. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining data integrity, be passionate about Big Data and willing to spearhead design and development for a new, high performance enterprise data initiative, using industry best practices and data modeling techniques. WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Required Skills:
- Willing to innovate and improve ETL processes utilizing languages (Python, Java)
- Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
- Comfortable working within a Cloud environment with a firm understanding of (EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda)
- Familiarity with SQL and PL/SQL
- Process work accurately and in a timely manner and proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
- Innovating new ways to standardize existing data processes and optimizing current workflows
- Create Data Mapping documents, data dictionaries and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related information technology field
- Able to condition data for visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos, PowerBuilder BI)
- Good understanding of Big Data Concepts
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills within a team environment
- Excellent time-management skills and great interpersonal and communication skills
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Current TS/SCI clearance with an Active Polygraph
