As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for the development and implementation of enterprise level software based technical solutions for the company's current and future software applications. Specific team responsibilities include providing Technical Services to underpin our new customer and solution implementation projects as well as through our support services for customers in general production. Assist with ongoing development, integration and deployment solutions for the company's clients, software products and hosting infrastructure. Provide technical implementation support to the Implementation Specialists and Client Support and assure our Technical Services are provided in the most effective and efficient manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Building data interfaces in a team environment along with an internal Implementation Manager and client resources
  • Writing processes utilizing Pervasive Data Integrator (Data Junction), VB Script, VB.net, MS SQL, SSIS, and other software to load hospital and clinic EDI and other types of data into applications
  • Communicate effectively verbal/written with clients' staffs, internal management and outside vendors
  • Working in a Microsoft Windows environment using MS Office requiring skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio
  • Work to mentor and cross train peers in all areas of technical services that you will support
  • Analyze systems, EDI data and user requirements
  • Develop programs, scripts, and deployment solutions where needed
  • Develop Documentation, Visio Diagrams
  • System Design, development, testing and implementation
  • Serve as the established technical expert on assigned systems
  • Independently research, analyze, and determine appropriate course of action for complex technical solutions
  • Pursue continuing education, addressing analysis and upgrading of technical skills
  • Prioritize workload effectively and meet critical deadlines
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer Science, or related major or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of working in a technical position supporting and developing technical solutions using various technical tools
  • 3+ years of working with VB6 and VB. Net Framework using Object Oriented methodology
  • 3+ years of working with MS
  • Understand and follow programming and documentation standards and software development life cycle
  • Working with formatted text files and balancing the files


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pervasive Data Integrator (Data Junction)
  • Health Care Technical Experience: EDI X12 formats 835, 837i, 837p, UB04 and CMS1500
  • Exposure to Patient Financial Systems (Star, HBOC, McKesson, EPIC, MS4, Meditech...)
