The position works closely with business stakeholders and other IT teams and resources to design, analyze, develop, test and document in support of the integration of electronic medical record data. It will leverage key development, database, reporting and analytic skills across a diverse and multi-faceted application landscape. The position will work on multiple projects simultaneously and perform on-going research to explore new offerings and technologies to improve workload productivity. This position will effectively communicate within our IT technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
If you are located in Central Time Zone, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates business needs and objectives
  • Creates and documents functional and technical specifications
  • Understands data structures and common methods to transform data for further analysis
  • Develops and implements SQL to extract, transform and load data
  • Utilizes knowledge of tables and normalization to determine where data should reside
  • Understands data integrations and their impact on standard PM/EMR systems
  • Understands quality assurance principles to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Responsible for troubleshooting data migration issues through to success in partnership with the data team
  • Collaborates with relevant business stakeholders to achieve business outcomes
  • Experience with interpreting data trends, conducting complex data analysis, and reporting results
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field required or 4+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SSIS, SQL, and developing efficient, well performing queries, parsing experience, and transforming file data
  • Proficient analytical and problem solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
  • Functional understanding of SQL Server (Version 2012 or higher), Visual Studio (Version 2012 or higher), SQL Server Management Studio


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records and/or Practice Management Systems
  • Experience with MySql
  • Experience with Perl
  • Experience with Data Definition Language to add, remove or modify tables within a database
  • Experience with development and testing related to the SDLC
  • Experience with ODBC, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
