The Data Engineer is responsible for developing, managing and optimizing our data pipelines, architecture, and datasets using Amazon Web Services. The ideal candidate will work alongside the developers, data analysts and data scientists to support the organization’s data initiatives by evaluating, reviewing, implementing, and building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data pipelines and ETL processes to connect with various data sources
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, and data scientists, and analytics engineers to design, develop end-to-end data pipelines to meet fast paced organization needs across geographic regions
- Support application programming interfaces (APIs), tools, and third-party products to extract data from SaaS applications
- Deploy updates and fixes and provide technical support as requested
- Research, recommend, and implement methods to ensure data integrity and quality
- Build analytical solutions by manipulating large data sets and integrating diverse data sources
- Work closely with the data scientists, analytics engineers, and systems administrators to create data solutions
- Ensure current and future architecture meets stakeholder needs
- Build and manage large scale data systems and ingestion capabilities and infrastructure
- Implement standardized, automated operational and quality control processes to deliver accurate and timely data and reporting to meet or exceed SLAs.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to meet business requirements, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field required
- A minimum of 1 years of proven work experience as a data Engineer
- AWS certification a plus
- Strong understanding of data structures and writing complex data analysis queries
- Proven track record of shipping large, complex, data products
- Superior organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of data structures and writing complex data analysis queries
- Strong understanding of non-relational data structures and concepts related to BI
- Experience with "big data" data pipelines and performing root cause analysis
- Ability to manipulate, process, and extract value from large disparate data sets
- Strong scripting skills: Python, PySpark
