The Financial Engineering Mission is a team of product and engineering Spotifiers who define and build the financial platforms and applications that will help accelerate the growth of the Spotify platform. As an engineer in the Finance business unit, you will strive to build and maintain strong engineering and data solutions for users that require golden datasets of financial information.

Our team is currently ideating on the products, infrastructure, data modeling, prioritization of initiatives that will have significant relevance on the future path of the Finance organization as a whole. This is a very exciting time to join the team and make truly lasting impacts on Spotify.

What you will do

• Closely work with product managers and business stakeholders to come up with innovative ideas and solutions on continuously improving the processes.
• Define data models that tie together disparate data across the entire organization.
• Design and implement large scale centralized data warehousing infrastructure and ETL pipelines for the Finance organization.
• Create data transformation logics to convert raw data to fit the new data models that make sense for the users.
• Gain technical expertise in building a data platform at scale to solve business, product and technical use cases
• Work in Google Cloud Platform and technology/languages such as BigQuery, Scala, Scio and Docker
• Collaborate with business users, data scientists, and engineering teams across the company and various time zones

Who you are

• Degree in Computer Science or similar fields.4+ years of professional software engineering and programming experience (Java, C++, Scala) in an agile working environment3+ years of architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scalability, quality) of complex systems
• Strong coding skills for analytics and data engineering (Scala, Java and Python)Experience in serving as the technical lead for complex software development projects as well as mentoring junior engineers
• Engineering experience with large scale distributed data technologies and tools in a large global consumer product company
• Advanced coding skills and practices (concurrency, distributed systems, functional principles, performance optimization)Strong analytical and problem solving skills coupled with ability to clearly communicate analysis and solutions
• Experience with data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery or Synapse and creating ETL pipelines
• Experience performing SQL analysis with large datasets in a cloud based-environment, preferably with an understanding of Google’s Cloud Platform
• Experience in operating and maintaining production grade software
• Comfortable with tackling very loosely defined problems and thrive when working on a team which has autonomy in their day to day decisions
