Our Opportunity: The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded technologist with a passion for building innovative businesssolutions with modern data engineering, AWS and Java technologies. Experience delivering modern software solutions – from systemsetup to development to business solution delivery – is critical. Programming experience is alsoparamount. The Data Engineer should be keeping up with the latest developments and should beable to connect technical capability with business need. What You'll Do: Design analytic solutions for business users that provide the data needed to operate thebusiness Build data integration solutions that process mid-large volume transactions in real time and inbatch using data engineering, Python and Java technologies You will be responsible for design, development, delivery and support of large-scale, data flowsand tools. What You'll Need: BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Information Technology5 – 6 years of experience working with data engineering (Vertica preferred)5 – 6 years of experience writing software in any of the following programming language (Java,Python)3-4 years' experience working with various AWS servicesExperience performing analytics to solve complex business problems4 - 5 years of experience integrating data between operational databases using dataintegration tools like AWS ETL technologies (preferred), Informatica, Datastage or SSIS. Expert level knowledge of data integration and familiarity with common data integrationchallenges like converting data types, handling errors, and translating between differenttechnology stacks SQL expertise and the ability to work with many different database types including Postgres,SQL Server, and others as required Able to work independently, own the requirements and deliverables, and produce an ETLsolution end to end successfully Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable being accountable for workproducts

Making an impact from day one

Being an entry-level engineer doesn’t mean working on entry-level projects. Recently, Shinde, an engineer on the delivery experience team, created an API that connects customer’s queries with shipment statuses, a project that could have a significant impact on Chewy’s bottom line. Shinde credits an environment of continuous learning that has, to date, exposed her to more than a dozen new languages and tools.

My exposure to popular and effective software has been critical to my development as an engineer, and my team is always ready and willing to answer my questions.
