What You Will Do
Data Architect
Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the data assets of an organization are supported by its information technology Architecture.
  • Recommends strategies based on changing business needs for a supported area.
  • Advises management on approaches to optimize business success.
  • Evaluates applicability of leading edge technologies and uses information to significantly influence future business strategy.
  • Analyzes complex business and competitive issues and discerns the implications for systems support.
  • Identifies, defines, directs, and performs project issue analysis to resolve issues, including analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed data solutions.
  • Designs projects with broad implication for the business and/or the future architecture, successfully addressing cross-technology and cross-platform issues.
  • Selects tools and methodologies for projects.
  • Develops partnerships with senior users to understand business needs and define future data requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less-experienced staff.
  • Leads the development of effective networks of internal and external customers, suppliers, the technical community and consultants.
  • Contributes to the organization's planning for the future of the data model and data architecture.
  • Leads the continual redesign of the organization's data model and/or transition to a common model.
  • Proposes and leads projects required to support the development or the organization's data infrastructure needs and provides intelligence on advances in database technologies.
  • Defines and implements an integrated data architecture to support end-to-end acquisition and engagement journeys to help data analytics and data harmonization.
  • Identifies, defines, directs, and performs project issue analysis to resolve issues, including analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed data solutions.
  • Designs projects with broad implication for the business and/or the future architecture, successfully addressing cross-technology and cross-platform issues.
  • Responsible for overall direction, oversight, and successful delivery of data warehouse design and implementation
  • Understands a modern MPP data warehouse and data lake
  • Leverage experience in architecting data warehouse solutions, including a strong background in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Governance
  • Develop data pipeline and streaming integrations with application databases, API's, and vendors
  • Transform complex customer business requirements into effective, efficient, and maintainable enterprise-level solutions


Technical and General Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) Data Modeling
  • Understanding of microservices framework
  • Minimum of 8 years working with relational databases - MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle
  • 3+ years working with cloud technologies - CloudSQL, Pub/Sub, Kafka, or equivalent
  • Expert level of SQL knowledge
  • Good professional experience with architecting data warehouses in Redshift/BigQuery or comparable technologies
  • Master Data Management, ERP, Salesforce experience preferred
  • Strong in building data lifecycle solutions including Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Marts, ODS, ELT and ETL, Stream/real-time/Batch processing, CDC, etc.
  • Strong understanding on API Domain Driven Design, Service Orchestration, Microservices concepts, REST and SOAP services etc.
  • Understanding of BI/Reporting, Advanced Analytics, Data Science, AI/ML and Self-Service solutions through to warehouse design, sourcing and logical data models
  • Strong communication, presentation and written skills
  • Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science or related discipline

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a specialty field.
Work Experience:
• 3 years of experience preferred.
