As a senior leader in Connected Commerce Architecture organization you will play an integral role in:
- Mentor Data Architects and Modelers. Ensure that proper data management rigor is in place so that users are confident in the quality of the data.
- Collaborate and influence the firm's data management standards, compliance oversight, telemetry and observability to understand where we are in compliance or not in compliance
- Information Architecture consultation and governance oversight across product data and consumption data products - including collaborating on meaningfully naming data objectives to improve search/find/use
- Governing data assets (data stores, APIs, events/topics) while modernizing data governance standards, practices and controls (expect/observe) for emerging database and data movement technologies/public cloud
- Elevating data as a first class citizen across SDLC tooling to improve traceability to data artifacts though change management/deployment with data compliance built into those tools
- Researching, vetting and targeting industry standards and recommending changes to taxonomies, vocabularies and ontologies to meaningfully improve understanding, protection and search/use of data
- This position is global in reach, working with teams across the US and India. Our teams are agile in nature, and are rapidly taking on new capabilities, tools and methods including Automation, DevOps, and Cloud. Successful candidates will demonstrate technical acumen across a broad reach of technologies, and have the proven ability to adapt to an ever changing environment.
Required qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with 8+ years in information architecture / data modeling in transactional, data warehousing, business intelligence or master and reference data management
- Strong leadership, partnership and communication skills, tailored to the audience's level of knowledge.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry vertical, focused on retail banking
- Expert in conceptual, logical and physical data modeling using tools such as Erwin
- Experience with data management and data governance
- Experience with enterprise metadata, reference data and data quality
- Excellent influencing and consultative skills, including business and technology interactions
- Passion to understand industry data models, standards, patterns and open source products, as appropriate, to increase consistency in data definition and developer velocity
Desirable Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in data models, data pipeline concepts, and cloud based infrastructure disciplines such as Kubernetes, containerization, etc.
- Expertise in data lake technologies - Hadoop/ Big Data/ S3 and database technologies like Teradata and Oracle Exadata.
- Knowledge of distributed data technologies like AWS EMR, Redshift, and Snowflake.
- Expertise with event sourcing and event streaming. Specifically with technologies like Kafka, Spark, and Java.
- Expertise with metadata management and schema management.
- Expertise in architecture practices such as reference architecture, patterns, and governance.
- Experience with Rules Engines, REST APIs and Data Quality engineering at scale.
- Experience with Domain Driven Design principles and Product boundaries.
- Fluency in translating architectures into engineering designs.
