Department OverviewEnvironmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Program Office is responsible for the accurate and cohesive reporting and messaging on MSI's efforts around Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG
Job Description
You will be working across multiple business units with key responsibilities including:
Serve as an internal expert on ESG data, support all ESG-related data initiatives, driving standardization and best practices across the platform. Operationalize and implement data governance.
Identify and address strategic limitations of MSI’s ESG data; Create standardized ESG reporting, including KPI tracking, and facilitate the collection of such data
Evaluate the quality of third-party data ESG providers’ offerings and their suitability for Motorola Solutions’ strategies
Work closely with our legal, enterprise risk management, and compliance teams on understanding and reacting to the rapidly changing ESG regulatory developments.
Increase data sources; utilize advanced data collection and extraction techniques to build the best-in-class disclosure and data library. Drive key automation initiatives leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies.
Stay informed on MSI's evolving ESG data needs, awareness of how our current data meets those needs, evolving market capabilities, client expectations and gaps to address.
Interface with MSI's existing ESG rating agency subscriptions and identify new providers whose ratings would complement our existing framework
Work closely with our internal teams to identify, collect, mine, and report data for ESG reporting (includes compiling, analyzing, and summarizing metrics and results).
Coordinate with subject-matter experts across the organization to identify and address data and operational gaps and to gain and validate information to be reported through selected disclosure frameworks
Use of (semi-automated) tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful
Develop and maintain databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format
Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
Preparing reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
Contribute to various documents and materials designed to share insights and build MSI’s ESG Narrative. Assist in the drafting of ESG communications for internal and external audiences
Create Excel and PowerPoint reports to support the ESG Program Office
Help to educate internal and external audiences about ESG initiatives and policies
Enhance ESG criteria and scorecard system as a risk management feature of MSI’s Procurement/Sourcing and Investment/M&A Processes
Manage ESG Calendar (Rating agency deadlines, internal meetings, schedules, External Communication Submissions, ESG Program Office calendar, etc)

Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree; ideally in data analytics plus 6 or more years experience working with ESG data, preferably either at ESG ratings firm or within a large global corporation.
Technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, then process, design, and present it in ways to help people, businesses, and organizations make better decisions
Background in solving market problems and building innovative data tools and research
Expertise in the nuances of specific ESG and sustainability-related datasets.
Experience assessing and selecting and implementing data analytic tools and standing up internal data/reporting programs.
Experience designing and implementing data related scorecards and metrics
Multidisciplinary knowledge around sustainability and climate change
Familiarity with ESG data vendors (Sustainalytics, MSCI, ISS) as well as ESG and sustainability standards and frameworks (CDP, SASB, TCFD, GRI).
Ability to express complex ideas in simple, practical terms, for a wide range of audiences.
Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior management.
Track record working and earning trust with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Ability to maintain schedules and adhere to key deadlines
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work successfully in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment, to meet tight deadlines.
Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.
Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SAS, etc to be used for data set analyzing
Adept at using data processing platforms and data visualization software
Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions
Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven experience working in data analysis
Basic Requirements
