Data Analytics/BI Manager
Disney’s Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) Ad Platforms team is responsible for delivering global adverting technology solutions for Disney’s Linear and Addressable channels, brands, and streaming services. The DMED Ad Platform Channel Operations team is looking for an experienced Data Analytics / Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to lead the team of solutions engineers responsible for the day-to-day operations in our Data & BI channel. Our successful candidate has demonstrated experience operationalizing advertising data to resolve complex delivery issues and optimize the advertising pipeline. You will need proven leadership skills, a sense of urgency, experience with critical service operations, and the ability to problem-solve in high volume, production environments. Responsibilities :
- Manage a team of solution engineers responsible for Day-to-Day technical operations of the Data & BI channel
- Drive the optimization and growth strategy, manage key development milestones and deployments, and monitor effectiveness.
- Establish channel-specific key performance metrics (KPM) to track channel health and growth, and deliver monthly KPM report to diverse audience of advertising stakeholders
- Establish channel-specific operational playbooks
- Develop and maintain operational dashboards in Datadog, MicroStrategy, etc.
- Develop strategies to automate operational workflows
- Develop strong partnerships with ad sales, business intelligence, engineering, product management, and analytics leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical channel objectives
- Create channel-specific onboarding and cross-training documentation
- Analyze and communicate the impact of key strategy, market, or product changes
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, related technical fields, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant data science, Business Intelligence, or data analytics experience – preferably with a digital media or digital advertising company
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in ad technology, operations, or support, preferably with focus in video advertising technology.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management, mentoring, and leadership experience
- Experience designing, building, and tracking operational KPI metrics
- Experience delivering products in an agile software development environment including sprint work in Jira
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner across multiple teams and organizations
- Strong SQL experience including writing/optimizing complex queries against distributed data stores such as Aurora, Hadoop, Hive, Oracle, and Snowflake
- Demonstrated experience working with business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Business Objects, Looker, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and unacquainted audiences
- Strong presentation and documentation skills including experience working with Confluence, Power Point, and LucidChart
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing cross-department BI/data projects and teams.
- Experience with digital advertising systems and ecosystems
- Experience using data analytics to triage and troubleshoot advertising workflows
- Experience with network topologies, systems architecture overviews, and entity relationship diagrams (ERD)
- Extensive experience with big data structures, data warehousing & ETL, BI technologies, insights, and visualization software
