Job Description Department:
The JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) Credit Review Groups are led by the Global Head of Credit Review, reporting through the General Auditor to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and external regulators.
Credit Review is an independent function that assists the firm in maintaining a focus on safety and soundness through a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating credit portfolio quality and promoting strong credit risk management practices, consistent with approved policies and regulatory guidelines. There are three Credit Review Groups.
The Consumer Credit Review group is responsible for reviewing the credit processes in retail lending (non-risk graded) portfolios at the firm, as well as various continuous monitoring activities. The group focuses on Consumer & Community Banking (CCB Auto, Business Banking, Card Services, and Home Lending) and consumer-related portfolios within AWM.
The Wholesale Credit Review group focuses on portfolios within Commercial Banking (CB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM), Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and commercial-oriented portfolios in CCB. The Wholesale Credit Review group performs independent reviews to assess risk grading accuracy and timeliness along with the evaluation of credit decisions, adherence to risk policy, analysis of underwriting standards/practices, and performs ongoing monitoring of asset quality.
Group:
Data Analytics & Solutions supports, enables, and solutions the data and analytics needs of Credit Review. The team will be responsible for data acquisition, preparation, wrangling, presentation, and visualization in collaboration with the Credit Reviewers. The Analytics Solutions professionals collaborate with others across the firm to ensure the latest techniques, practices, and technology are being utilized to deliver effective and efficient data that strictly adheres the data management practices.
Position Description:
The focus of this position is to develop and drive data analytics solutions in support of all Consumer Credit Review lines of business with a primary focus on Card Services, currently located in Wilmington, DE and Columbus, OH. The Data Analytics & Solutions team overall is co-located with Credit Review in strategic locations; Columbus, OH., Plano, TX., Wilmington, DE., and India. The ability to collaborate effectively in-person and remotely is a key for success.

  • Create analytics solutions to support Periodic Credit Reviews, Continuous Monitoring, and Risk Assessments
  • Deliver data solutions to meet the needs of Credit Reviewers
  • Translation of business needs into data requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to determine analytics needs and drive the Credit Review plan
  • Effectively utilize analytical tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, QlikView, Excel, SQL, Python, and R)
  • Develop repeatable analytics, systems, and reports geared toward Credit Reviewer self-service capabilities
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent projects to meet deadline requirements
  • Automate and streamline existing processes, procedures, and toolsets to gain maximum efficiencies
  • Lead projects for analysis, development, and reporting solutions
  • Stay informed about new analytical methodologies, tools, and visualization technologies than can assist Credit Review
  • Regularly provide thoughtful views and perspectives across various forums and audiences
  • Ensure consistent application of firmwide data governance policy in support of the Credit Review policies and procedures


Requirements:

  • Experienced professional with at least eight (8) years in hands-on data analytics experience with strong exploratory data analysis skills
  • JPMC domain experience in CCB Card Services is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Technology, or a related discipline
  • The successful candidate will have a unique mix of technical data skills and business acumen
  • Proficiency with analytics toolsets and scripting languages such as Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Python, etc.
  • Ability to present fact-based findings in a clear, logical, and concise way, i.e. tell a story with data
  • Exhibit willingness and the ability to learn and use new software or languages as necessary
  • Possess intellectual curiosity and enjoy solving difficult business problems in innovative and creative ways
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure, and a positive team player
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to convey analytical findings, business implications, and actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional maturity and the ability to work/deliver with limited supervision
  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, and supports colleagues
  • Travel requirement is limited
