As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will be an integral member of the Operational Excellence organization. In this position, you will identify and drive data and information solutions that create and sustain an efficient, effective, and high-performing organization. You will provide leadership in the development and implementation of systems supporting the various Operational Excellence teams in Product Management Office (PMO), BU Operations, and Cost Entitlement. You will be responsible for strategically designing and implementing BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a central organization that spans all of Micron's growing business. You will build strong business partnerships so that you can better understand the business processes. You will be required to leverage information technology, data science, business intelligence (BI) and business acumen to develop the data effectiveness and efficiency of the Operational Excellence Team. The various data repositories used by the extended team will be under your review to improve the connections and usage of the data the team's processes produce. As part of this role, you will sustain and improve business processes as regards to their inputs, outputs, and data repositories. Once processes produce meaningful data you will translate that data into information by integrating it into tools, dashboards, and reports. You will help align the capabilities of the team's process, responsibilities, and systems. You will provide recommendations about the design, implementation or selection of new process, responsibilities and systems or software packages. You will maintain interim BI systems and interface through IS support transfer wherever possible.
Your achievement in this role will manifest itself with the delivery of execution, business intelligence and analytical tools. You will achieve this through critical behaviors and skills: cross functional collaboration, accurate project scoping, direct and timely communication, an internally driven bias for action, effective data analysis, ownership of deliverables, and a high level of service to the Operational Excellence team and its partners.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performing statistical analysis and have basic programming knowledge
  • Understanding of database systems and structure
  • Create tools, dashboards, and reports based on Operational Excellence SMEs requests
  • Partner with Operational Excellence SMEs to develop optimal solutions
  • Identify data streams, knowledge base, and work with relevant teams to create the required pipelines that can be used by data science to develop solutions.
  • Visualize key concepts from complex and multiple data sources using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other software platforms; Convey data clearly and accurately by using charts, graphs, and tables
  • Work with both structured and unstructured data to provide insights
  • Optimize the data output and collection from PMO, BU Operations and Cost Entitlement Processes
  • Create and maintain consistency in reporting across the organization
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop new data initiatives and automation of key processes


Required Qualifications: Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite of tools (SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Office 365 (including Excel, Power Pivot, Power Query, and SharePoint Online)
  • Knowledge of various Micron business processes/systems/tools and infrastructure (Team Center, PLM, SOR, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology, and Product & Customer Master Data)
  • Familiarity with code management systems/concepts (Subversion SVN, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Direct experience with Project Management methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc.)
  • General Business Intelligence & Analytics concepts
  • Competency with data visualization tools, including Power BI, Tableau, and other web-based applications
  • Demonstrated business acumen and inclination to quickly learn to bridge knowledge gaps
  • Proven teambuilder and collaborator with the ability to initiate foster cross functional relationships and influence where a formal hierarchical doesn't exist
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of Micron products and technologies, manufacturing & supply processes, manufacturing sites, market segments and customers.


Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study is required.
