We have an opportunity for a Data Analytics Developer to join the ERA (Enterprise Reporting & Analytics) team and work with our Optum Behavioral Health Operations partners.
We are a talented and ambitious reporting team that works to solve complex business scenarios and are looking for another innovative developer to join us. You will meet with clients to assess and interpret their reporting needs. You will identify and design solutions based on client requirements. You will use various data query and visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, etc.) to access multiple data sources and design insightful products. You will work with and assist various teams, each with unique backgrounds and perspectives, to develop solutions. You will obtain expertise with behavioral health, mental health, and substance abuse-based clinical & call data and will serve as a consulting resource for our clients and internal partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze client requirements and complex business scenarios
  • Design innovative, analytical, and fully automated products and solutions
  • Act as a project leader to execute key projects and deliverables
  • Display critical thinking & question the status quo
  • Identify opportunities for improvements, simplifications, & risk reduction in business processes
  • Provide consulting to teammates, leaders, and clients
  • Oversee maintenance of 20+ report portfolio

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience (at least 5 years)
  • 1+ years of Data Visualization experience. (Tableau, SSRS, Power BI, etc.)
  • 1+ years of ETL experience (SSIS, Alteryx, etc.)
  • 1+ years of SQL coding experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (highly proficient in Excel)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare or insurance experience, specifically with clinical and/or claims data
  • 1+ years of Alteryx development experience
  • Experience with Snowflake and other cloud-based data sources
  • Experience with Agile and scrum methodologies
  • Intermediate understanding of database structures & design
