What You'll Do
You will lead the development of open-access analytics tools and datasets within the data hub of McKinsey's Center for Societal Benefit.
In this role, you will be responsible for product development. You will work with scrum leaders, engineers, designers, and leadership to design prototypes, manage day-to-day development, gather user input and create release plans. You will also be responsible for product strategy. You will work with leadership to define priority development initiatives to support open-access tools and data/analytics partnerships.
You will incorporate product excellence through better UX/UI, performance metrics, user tracking, and competitive analysis. You will also create knowledge initiatives. You will lead the creation of content to provide novel insights on key focus areas (mental health and substance use, social determinants of health, rural health, and maternal heath) in the form of articles or infographics, and/or conferences.
You will also be responsible for external partnerships. You will lead the collaboration with external partners to co-publish insights, data or interactives on center focus areas. You will set cadence, create content and manage relationships with external partners, working under guidance of leadership.
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle or Waltham office as part of our Social Sector, Healthcare and Public Sector Entities (SHaPE) practice.
You'll work with McKinsey's Center for Societal Benefit through Healthcare as part of our Social, Healthcare & Public Entities (SHaPE) practice. The Center deploys McKinsey's global capabilities and resources to historically under-resourced areas of healthcare that are critical to the benefit of society, such as mental health and substance use, social determinants of health, rural health, and maternal health. The Center is committed to sharing resources, innovations, data, and findings in the public domain so others can replicate what proves effective.
The Center for Societal Benefit aspires to collaborate with other organizations and leading researchers to drive positive innovation to improve overall health and well-being and reduce healthcare disparities. The Center for Societal Benefit aims to accomplish this objective through four strategies: conducting and sharing research; developing open-access analytic tools and datasets; partnering with organizations to develop novel solutions to longstanding problems; and convening and supporting multi-stakeholder collaborations.

An Insider's view of McKinsey & Company

What’s the vibe like in the office?

The best part about coming to work is collaborating with people who are excited to be here. They push me to think about the mission and vision of my day-to-day work. We’re driven by big-picture motivations and everything we do has value. My work has meaning and purpose.

Farah

Senior Design User Research

What projects are you most excited about?

I’m working with the disaster recovery and business continuity group on a new project called Disaster Recovery as a Service. We’re building a failover process for many of our mission-critical applications. That way, during a disaster or emergency, we can limit downtime, bring systems back online, and keep business moving.

Johnathan

Director of Cloud Security

How does the company support your career growth?

McKinsey is the first place I’ve encountered that truly enables employees to work cross functionally . We have a 20% rule, meaning I spend about 80% of my time contributing to my main team, and the other 20% contributing to other development projects. I’m learning new industries and skills, while maintaining a manageable workload.

Isa

Software Engineer

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

Creativity happens when you have an environment that is inclusive and diverse, promotes psychological safety, rewards bold thinking, supports with the best tools and has a clear north star and strategic vision everyone can relate to. As a leader, I try my best to set such a tone and create these conditions.

Tunde

Senior Partner, McKinsey Tech

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Maintaining a work-life balance is critical for our well-being. For me, that starts with leaders and a work environment that support flexibility. I was drawn to McKinsey’s culture of encouragement, support, and empowerment in caring for people. I have a very supportive and empathetic leader who inspires me to bring out my best at work.

Usha

Senior Software Architect
