The Opportunity

As a leader in digital financial services, our customer experiences and interactions are designed based on data-driven strategies. Ally Auto's Consumer Asset Management Strategy organization is a multidisciplinary team part of which focuses on end-to-end consumer journeys and helps build products and tools designed to improve those journeys while optimizing asset performance.

Reporting to the Manager of Customer Interaction Strategy, this position will be focused on supporting the needs of our expanding Customer Journey and Customer Interaction strategies. The ideal candidate must be passionate about delivering results, must be an innovative and strategic thinker, and willing to challenge status quo. They can learn quickly, are self-motivated, detail oriented, and can sort through large amounts of information to identify relevant and key points. They will be able to apply knowledge of business and balanced judgment in interpretation of data (analytics).

The Work Itself

  • Responsible for leading the creation of data gathering and new analysis to progress the business.
  • Provide analytical and data support in the design, review, and improvement of our customer journey strategy.
  • Apply sound control processes into daily/weekly/monthly processes to effectively identify, assess, and manage risk.
  • Maintain code logic to pull, sanitize, and aggregate data to produce accurate reporting.
  • Collaboratively work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with broader company goals.
  • Perform special analytics projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Interface with various stakeholders within asset performance, credit risk, finance and strategy and analytics organizations to provide timely and accurate analysis.
  • Able to deliver accurate results within expected deadlines.
  • Strong emphasis on business partnering and subject matter expertise in not only data but how the business operates.



The Skills You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics
  • 3+ years of practical experience developing analysis and queries using SQL and SAS.
  • Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Quick learner and has demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and execute small to medium scale projects
  • Work well within a team of analysts and collaborate with individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Candidate must have strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present material


Preferred:

  • BS, BA, (or MS) in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Technology or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in similar or equivalent position
  • Knowledge of statistics and data management processes
  • Experience in automotive financial services industry
