Join our team as a REMOTE Data Engineer on our Information Technology (IT) team, supporting the Operations team. As a member of the Information Technology team, you will need to thrive in a fast pace and innovative environment. You will collaborate with IT delivery teams and business stakeholders to identify data challenges, outline opportunities, gather technical requirements, develop, and deploy analytics solutions. This role requires collaboration with our Financial, Operations, and IT capabilities. A firm grasp on how those capabilities leverage data for decision making is essential. This role will be enabling our Data Centric ecosystem in a way that streamlines communication and knowledge sharing to make the business more responsive, efficient, and profitable. This role is open to local, remote or hybrid (Wichita, Kansas based) candidates or remote candidates in locations within reasonable proximity to Wichita, Kansas, such as Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Houston and Atlanta.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • Partner with many cross-capabilities to streamline analysis and decision making by integrating analytics solutions with key business processes
  • Design and build data ingestion pipelines leveraging best practices for data modeling to integrate business capabilities and their business processes
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Business System Analysts, Data Architects to translate business requirements into technical deliverables that enable business partners to capture value in an Agile manner
  • Collaborate with end-users that are building reports to support our Finance team and identify opportunities to innovate, integrate, or consolidate their analysis and/or the business process
  • Contribute to the design, testing and documenting of enterprise data models
  • Grow, through influence, a data-centric mindset across the organization and mentor others on how they can leverage data and BI tools to create and capture value


The Experience You Will Bring:

  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in building data pipeline using ETL tools / opensource frameworks i.e. Informatica, Matillion, DBT, AWS Glue, Kinesis and Athena
  • Five or more years of experience in building enterprise grade data warehouse / data lake solutions to serve reporting / dashboarding requirements i.e. Redshift, Snowflake and Google big query
  • Ability to write complex queries within SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Hands on experience with cloud services i.e. AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Experience facilitating design sessions with Business Analysts, Architects and Data Leads to build analytic solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software or computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics or a related field


What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Experience building data processing pipeline using Python, Pandas and Numpy
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial processes
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services products and tools, DynamoDB, Redshift and S3
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Experience collaborating with a distributed team
  • A background in machine learning
  • Python and R experience
