Data Analyst Internship - Global Finance Analytics

The Red Hat Global Financial Analytics team is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join us and support ongoing data analysis and visualization projects. In this role, you will work closely with various finance teams and leadership to develop and deliver data models, dashboards, and key insights. To succeed in this role, you'll need to have excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills. You'll need to have functional or educational experience in the area of finance and analytics, in addition you should also have project experience in data storytelling and visualization best practices. As a Data Analyst Intern, you should have skills in data mining, cleansing, integrations, and proficiency in visualization design tools like Tableau. Additionally you'll need to demonstrate resourcefulness, motivation, and creative ways to assess and cultivate the Red Hat workforce.
What you will do
- Work with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize development key organization data sets
- Work with data engineers to understand data architecture and best practices for consumption
- Design attractive and impactful visualizations that efficiently enable decision making
- Perform data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Partner with finance and IT to increase scalability of organizational and enterprise ready data models as needed
- Correlate data across multiple core platforms
- Support the building, management, and governance of a organizational data warehouse
- Partner with peer data visualization experts to share best practices and drive consistency in approach across the enterprise
What you will bring
- Degree, preferably in business administration, finance, or analytics; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date at the start of the internship
- Proficiency in Tableau or other data visualization platforms
- Organized and detail-oriented with advanced capabilities in design
- Experienced in collaborating with IT or enterprise data "owners" to guide solutions
- Excellent interpersonal, team collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Passionate about telling data stories through visualization and dashboards
- Familiarity with basic ETL processes and programming languages including SQL and Python as well as solid understanding of data architecture best practices
- Ability to work full-time May-August
