Who We Are

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see what’s not ordinarily possible, and the ability to collect intelligence from vantage points as diverse and global as the Internet. As organizations depend on cloud services, the Internet has become their defacto network connecting cloud applications to users. Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform is like a ‘Google maps of the Internet’, providing the only collectively powered view of digital experiences end-to-end. We enable our customers made up of the world’s largest and fastest-growing brands, to identify problems before they impact revenue, brand reputation, or employee productivity.

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

About the position

We’re looking for an inquisitive Data Analytics Manager who enjoys working cross-functionally, has a strong passion for analytics and is eager to drive operational improvements and sound product decisions. The ideal candidate will have a background in a quantitative or technical field, has excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in using analytics to understand and influence business decisions.

You will be a key contributor to our centralized Analytics team, working closely across Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing as a data-driven advisor and partner on strategic issues. You will provide insight, identify opportunities, and impact the strategy and operations of ThousandEyes.

On the Analytics team, we are excited about the impact data can have in our business, product, and our customers’ experience – we hope you share our enthusiasm!

Responsibilities:

  • Embed Analytics work streams in the Product roadmap by enabling continuous insight discovery and opportunity identification across the Product and Customer lifecycle
  • Create a culture of experimentation by promoting continuous discovery and hypothesis-driven development. Test big changes and measure big metrics, rinse, repeat!
  • Act in a Senior capacity within the team, onboarding new hires, and mentoring junior analysts, shaping the direction of the Analytics team
  • Potential to grow into a people manager leading the Analytics charter for areas within the product

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with quantitative focus (e.g., Business, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years’ experience with problem solving and providing practical business insights and recommendations using large volume data sets from multiple sources
  • Exceptional teammate that can lead complex projects across the team, implement data best practices, and mentor members on the data analytics team
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, data warehousing, and data modeling
  • Strong problem-solving ability, high attention to detail and rigor, can-do attitude, and desire to learn
  • Hands-on to get things done fast and ability to work without continual guidance
  • Strong cross-functional and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate technical content to general audiences
  • Entrepreneurial in nature - able to keep moving initiatives forward in ambiguous situations
  • Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Chartio, Looker)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience doing product analysis at SaaS companies
  • Management consulting experience
  • Experience with Python (or equivalent scripting language)

Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns, and protects. No other company can do what we do –you can’t put us in a box! But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us.

We recognize that diverse teams make the strongest teams, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

Cisco Covid-19 Vaccination Policy

The health and safety of Cisco's employees, customers, and partners is a top priority. Our goal is to protect and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 infection for strong business resiliency during the pandemic. Therefore, Cisco requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the U.S., unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law, and in countries where COVID-19 vaccination is legally required. The company will consider legally required accommodations/exceptions for medical, religious, and other reasons as per the requirements of the role and in accordance with applicable law. Additional information will be provided to candidates about the requirements and accommodation process at the offer time based on region.

An Insider's view of ThousandEyes (part of Cisco)

What are some social events your company does?

At ThousandEyes we celebrate our employees each month with many different events that have ranged from birthday celebrations to a Halloween costume contest and a field day at Zilker Park. Our goal is to create an environment where we are celebrating our entire team!

Christie

Workplace Services Manager

How does the company support your career growth?

ThousandEyes truly values its employees and that was clear to me from day one. I always thought that transitioning out of sales would be impossible without an MBA, however the opportunity was afforded to me at ThousandEyes.

Charles

Customer Success Manager

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

One of our Sales DNA principles is "no limits". We demonstrate exponential thinking, we dream big, inspire our peers and act as the spark for change. I would say this is a common theme / trait across the tribe.

Luvlynn

VP, Inside Sales

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

I believe ThousandEyes overall culture drives a positive work/life balance. Wellness is a DNA principle of ours, and it is truly taken to heart in all sense of the word. Top down, taking time away from work to spend quality time with family and/or doing what you love is encouraged and celebrated.

Doug
