The Challenge
As a data scientist in the Qualtrics internal Global Customer Intelligence team, you will tap the power of our data to help Qualtrics take action to grow revenue, optimize experience and improve margins. You will use your modeling expertise to develop predictive and explanatory models using operational, financial, product and experiential data. The models you develop will strategically advance how Qualtrics understands and supports its customers.
A Day in the Life:
- Interact with cross-functional business stakeholders to understand their questions and issues and formulate approaches for data analysis and experiments
- Design, develop, and program models, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions
- Create slides, visualizations and other documentation to effectively communicate your methods, findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with stakeholders on how to turn the modeling output and insights into actionable implementations
- Be an internal subject matter expert in statistical methods
- Form collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and team members
What Success Looks Like:
You will help the organization successfully harness the power of data to change how the organization operates. Your efforts will become critical inputs into our use cases, improvement prioritization efforts and business analysis. You can demonstrate how you have used data to change thoughts about how things work. You effectively document your methods and processes and can provide the theoretical rationale for your selected modeling approach. You care about understanding your stakeholders and want to develop solutions that align with our strategic priorities. You build confidence with stakeholders such that they are willing to change their operations to incorporate your insights.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Data Science, Economics
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Master's Degree or 2-3 years of relevant work experience with a PhD degree
- Strong quantitative analytical skills; with statistical analysis competency in techniques such as correlation, regression, key driver analysis, KPI metric development, segmentation modeling, and algorithms
- Fluent in Python or R, able to query data using SQL, has experience working with cloud-based computing platforms and big data tools
- Experience in data mining, advanced data manipulation, machine learning, and statistical analysis
- Strong verbal and written skills to present analysis and insights including trends and opportunities to stakeholders across the business
- Able to work independently on projects with little to no guidance required
- High standard of quality, attention to detail, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with survey scripting and data reporting platforms such as Qualtrics is desired
- Ph.D. in quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc

Location
While we are optional-remote for the time being, Qualtrics is moving towards a hybrid model where employees will split their time between home and office work each week.
