This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA's family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC, USA but will currently be remote.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 11 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

CW-Lead Business Systems Analyst
The Lead Business System Analyst oversees the analysis of business and information needs in order to design optimal systems solutions. Working with limited oversight, this job reviews that designed system solutions are appropriate for business needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. This job is responsible for managing large projects and processes, while also coordinating efforts among the Business Systems team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides solutions for IT and business management concerning the application of technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications.
  • Monitors feedback on the use of business applications, enhancing system productivity as needed.
  • Translates business requirements into application requirements, while working with all members of the team to execute the application successfully.
  • Reviews cost estimates of various system solutions and reviews project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources.
  • Engages client teams and explains complex security initiatives in an understandable manner, while also addressing any hesitations or concerns from the client.
  • Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems, as necessary.
  • Coaches and sometimes delegates work to lower level professionals.

Technical Data Analyst

The Technical Data Analyst identifies customer patterns through statistical modeling and analytics. This job assists in examining and identifying data patterns that help answer business questions and improve decision-making. Working under moderate supervision, this job collects data sources, analyzes data and extracts key information. Partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders to understand the business need, the technical data analyst produces exploratory, diagnostic, and predictive insights to business owners.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists with mathematical, statistical, and economic methods that determine market conditions, project consumer needs and inform business initiatives.
  • Identifies trends found from modelling and informs other lines of business such as product development and marketing decisions.
  • Helps develop data mining models, statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies to identify key customer segments and to simulate impact of potential future business decisions.
  • Works to develop detailed reports and conclusions for business, finance and investment management based on data summaries.
  • Recognizes areas of opportunity and risk through data analysis and modelling and reports findings.
  • Provides information for additional research and analysis in line with statistical methodology.
  • Assists other areas of the business to model the potential outcomes of implementing various business strategies.



Educational Requirements

University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

2+ years preferred of working in reporting or data analysis

Required Skills

  • SQL / data source query skills. Knowledge of SQL and no-SQL databases
  • Visualization tool experience (Tableau, PowerBI, R Studio etc)
  • Ability to translate complex topics, concepts and business opportunities in data to understand trends, dependencies and helping identify problem areas and making recommendations.
  • Solution finder, thrives on innovative and creative approaches
  • Superior communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to succinctly present ideas and opinions to partners.



Preferred Skills

  • Alteryx or any other data analysis tool
  • Data modeling techniques like forecasting
  • Knowledge of Web App or Mobile App development and structure
  • Google Analytics / Adobe Analytics
  • Understanding of ETL process and database management

Potential Salary: $111.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
