The Customer Data Analytics & Insights Group Manager is accountable for the conception, build and roll out of the single source of truth for Private Banking and Wealth Management Technology (PBWMT) customer insights platform. This insights platform will be a part of the Customer 360 / Customer Hub platform and will enable generation, aggregation and governance of insights to enable various departments collaborate through a common understanding of the Citi PBWM customer. This role leads and directs a team of engineers and analysts dedicated at discovering insights through collaboration across departmental analytics teams or engineering them within the customer data management team. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the analytics journey with an ability to build from hypothesis to insights and their commercial usability within the banking and financial services industry. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. This role will assume full responsibility for the accuracy of the insights being ingested/built on the platform which will require a thorough understanding of the concepts and implementation of analytics governance. This role will also be responsible for setting up the goals and managing the performance of engineering and/or analytics resources including but not limited to management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

  • Lead the development of the Customer insights integration platform through a combination of data analytics, aggregation and analytics governance.
  • Manages engineers and analysts and help oversee the design and development of customer focused analytics
  • Partner with other IT and business teams to integrate existing analytical results/insights into the centralized platform
  • Help drive the adoption of Customer Hub - the backend that manages 100M+ Citi Customers
  • Create high level business architecture that accelerates solution designs, improves quality of applications, drives data quality and interoperability, and ensures maximum utilizations of shared assets and services.
  • Create detailed business requirements documents reflecting the data needs of key business and technology initiatives at Citi.
  • Work closely with key business SMEs to develop an in-depth understanding of their critical data needs and business impact of existing data quality and data integrity issues on a detailed level.
  • Recognize the patterns of data needs across multiple business requirements and determine how to address these requirements using an effective and efficient business data architecture.
  • Work closely with key technology SMEs to address business architecture requirements.
  • Soft skills required to work with an executive team: high level communication skills, influence management, and good presentation ability.
  • Maintain relationships with product managers, architects and technical leads
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse global mindset in order to attract a deep and diverse talent pool within the organization that includes effective coaching and development.
  • Evaluate opportunities and enable measurable improvements quickly and best utilize resources, while building an automation roadmap that matches strategy and direction. Effectively scale regional solutions globally where appropriate.
  • The lead is responsible to refine the strategy for the customer data capabilities, including the business architecture, processes, sub-capabilities required and target state
  • Establish and maintain a high performing, open culture based on integrity and strong partnership and financial responsibility.


The ideal candidate will come from a financial services organization and be a visionary leader in risk & control, automation and monitoring. Bachelor degree in computer science, business or a related field. Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 15+ years of overall IT experience in the field of data & analytics with 5+ in Banking, Financial Services experience preferred
  • Experience leading the an IT function either in the area of data engineering or data analytics
  • Expertise on modern data architectures like NoSQL and Graph Databases, Event streaming and messaging, Lambda architecture, distributed compute and parallelization, etc
  • Any prior experience working with or building Customer 360, Customer Data Platforms, Customer Master Data Management would be a plus
  • Expertise in the area of party data management that includes person and non-person master data management
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts such as matching techniques, survivorship rules, data stewardship implementations and partnerships with data governance organizations.
  • Strong personal leadership and collaborative skills, combined with comprehensive, practical experience and knowledge in the Data Management and strategy domain
  • Proven willingness to understand the business being served and apply the accurate technical solutions to enable successful achievement of its goals and objectives
  • Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate Master Data Management (MDM) principles, patterns, and tools
  • Demonstrated facility to interact and work effectively with diverse teams
  • Ability to lead projects with multiple counterparts across organizations
  • Ability to work under pressure, facilitate discussions and conduct group meetings
  • Experience with industry standard data visualization tools - Tableau, Arcadia, Datameer, etc. is highly desirable
  • Extensive exposure to various data repository structures, data extraction methods and various analytical/statistical tools (SAS, SQL, Python, etc.) is desirable

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree/MBA
