Role Description

As the Corporate Site Reliability Engineering Manager at Dropbox, you’ll have the opportunity to drive and influence the infrastructure strategy and technical direction of services that directly impact all Dropbox employees worldwide.

You have a deep passion for building security and reliability into systems in a dynamic and fast-moving environment along with a desire to consult on and guide architecture for a diverse array of systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for people management of a team of engineers, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports
  • Collaborate with teams across organizational boundaries with a focus on partnerships with key partners such as Security, Networking, Datacenter Operations, and Developer Infrastructure
  • Sustain, enhance, and build automation tools to detect, remediate, and prevent security threats
  • Build an automation strategy to scale out Corporate Linux environment
  • Drive security improvement projects related to systems such as web servers, authentication services, directory services, DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • Perform periodic on-call duty to handle security, availability, and efficiency of Dropbox corporate services
  • Provide architectural consultation on systems and services
  • Lead/Facilitate technical discussions
  • Lead in the planning of strategic initiatives, budgets, OKR’s and ensure organizational alignment in partnership with our key stakeholders
  • Develop, challenge, and provide growth opportunities for team members
  • Lead the Change Management Review process for all ITS 
  • Lead the Incident Management process for all ITS
  • Design and Lead a modern monitoring and alerting program for all Corporate systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience working as a Systems Administrator (Linux preferred)
  • 7 + years experience scripting (Python preferred)
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Proven strong system/network debugging
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network, and application-level security
  • Proven experience with management/automation tooling
  • Consistent record of leading strategic cross-team technical projects
  • Experience with ITIL process for Change and Incident Management
  • Experience running Agile teams
