Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

Global online platforms like YouTube face enormous and complex challenges in balancing copyright protection with freedom of expression in the digital age. Your technical work will empower us to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our copyright compliance program, resolve unique legal challenges at the cutting edge of internet and copyright law, scale and streamline complex workflows, and support and educate internal stakeholders. You will balance the short term requirements we face while seeing the big picture and making quantitatively based long-term recommendations accordingly.

*This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube's Community Guidelines, however these occurrences would be very rare and chance encounters. This role may also occasionally require candidates to work on call or weekend hours*

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun - and we do it all together.

Responsibilities

  • Learn complex and technical concepts and systems and deliver meaningful results using them, and communicate technical results and methods.
  • Maintain, foster and promote Copyright Operations quality by providing regular feedback metrics to global review teams, and manage technological solutions for streamlining quality assurance and produce scalable training solutions to emergent workflows.
