This position is the primary compliance support contact for Life InForce Operations and New Business areas to comply with state and federal market conduct requirements. Will provide support for InForce and New Business inquiries, special projects and market conduct exams. Will support Licensing, Contracting, and Commissions to ensure compliance with state and federal market conduct requirements in regards to agent licensing, appointments, and agent terminations, including providing support for the AML and Annuity Suitability agent training requirements. This includes conducting the necessary agent audits and reporting the findings to the VP of Compliance and area managers. Collaborates with the VP and Agent review Sub-Committee to review possible agent terminations and will be the designated LAD Compliance representative as the Fraud and SIU representative, which includes representing LAD Compliance in required meetings and training initiatives. Responsible for providing potential agent termination reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and Sales for review and Licensing if termination action is required. Responds to agent complaints and DOI agent investigations. This position will conduct special target audits to support the LAD Market Conduct Compliance program for businesses in high-risk areas. Will be responsible for communication of audit findings to management and work independently with management to achieve compliance with regulatory standards. Provides backup team support for the acquired life and annuity business (when needed).


Responsible for collecting data for various annual fraud report filings. Assist the VP with additional duties as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for Protection Division, Life InForce, and New Business - provide support for items such as requests for regulatory guidance for specific live issues, new law implementation, assist with complaints, subpoenas, and business initiatives. 
  • Manage and audit compliance with NY Regulation 60 Replacement rules for life products.
  • Responsible for carrying out the agent review process including assisting with agent investigations, terminations, complaints, and reporting any audit findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provides support for the LAD Market Conduct Compliance Program – testing operational processes, reporting findings, and documenting remediation.
  •  Will be responsible for agent training support, AML, Annuity Suitability training, licensing, and appointment requirements and conducting agent audits.
  • LAD fraud representative - participates in quarterly corporate fraud meetings, training initiatives, and various annual report filings
  • Support market conduct exams and audits.
  • Responsible for various duties for the team as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience is preferred 
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience working with life insurance and annuities
  • Experience with periodic testing and reporting of operation activities
  • Experience with implementing procedural enhancements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Experience working with various databases
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Should be able to make recommendations based on well-organized, clear, and concise data
  • Must be self-directed and able to produce results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure, in both independent and team environments
  • Project management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
