Position Summary

This role will assess industry, product and competitive intelligence, to serve as a market segment intelligence and product expert with a focus on translating information into actionable recommendations for stakeholders; resulting in increased sales, client retention, and earnings. We're looking for Innovative thinking combined with research and analytics to propose strategic recommendations and development.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• Implement and maintain an Affinity Solutions competitive intelligence program. Collect, organize, analyze, distribute, and promote information for stakeholders to strategically position and promote products and services, leading to increased sales, client retention, and earnings.
  • Research, collect and analyze industry trends, and market data. Deliver timely overviews on new insights, trends, considerations, and opportunities. Ensure effective use of competitive information.
  • Use consumer insights to consult with key internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to capture the "voice of the customer". Translate user needs into business requirements.
  • Respond to Sales, Service and internal requests for information, research and analysis.
  • Maintain and leverage central repository of Affinity Solutions competitive intelligence.
  • Fulfill intelligence requests for Affinity Solutions initiatives as directed.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows and events to gain industry and competitive insights.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder and liaison relationships to aid in the collection of intelligence.
  • Establish communication channels for the collection of intelligence and data.
  • Inspire collaboration and conversation among associates to elicit a culture of using data to increase the completive position of Securian and Affinity Solutions.
  • Manage internal relationship with Corporate Market Research to maintain awareness of applicable enterprise and division research projects, and provide input to the development of research projects.
  • Manage external relationships with sources of competitive information (e.g.: research firms). Collaborate with competitive intelligence resources in other solutions groups to leverage cross-market learnings; optimize tools; establish consistencies across common processes and approaches.

• Execute Win/Loss Analysis Program to increase buyer understanding, develop competitive intelligence strategies and improve win-loss ratios among current and prospective clients.
  • Act as the primary contact and relationship manager with win-loss analysis vendor.
  • Formalize results obtained.
  • Conduct analyses and report consolidated findings to internal stakeholders.
• Actively participate in enterprise intelligence initiatives. Represent the Affinity business lines in strategic enterprise initiatives to assess the competitive position and growth aptitude of our market capabilities. Ensure successful dissemination of information to Securian executive leaders.
• Serve as a product expert and resource while supporting sales and retention efforts and demonstrating strong product and market knowledge.
  • Apply technical knowledge and conduct product analysis and product design recommendations.
  • Play an active role in solution development and enhancement project initiatives as a product and competitive intel subject matter expert.
  • Accurately communicate technical specifications as it relates to our product features, benefit definitions, and state-related requirements.
  • Address product-related inquiries and support operational needs such as internal product trainings for key functional areas.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to analyze, problem solve, develop insights, make recommendations, and effectively articulate market insights.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations such as weighted averages.
• Attention to detail, producing high quality results.
• Resourceful; able to obtain support and answers outside of traditional channels.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environment, prioritize and complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Computer and organizational skills to build and maintain a competitive intelligence database.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant competitive analysis experience in business analysis, reporting and/or communications.
• Knowledge of Affinity Solutions insurance products and services.
• Four-year degree in analytics, market research, math or communications.
