We are seeking a Clinical Systems Analyst to join our team. You will monitor our genetic testing pipeline using custom software tools to ensure samples move through efficiently. Candidates are encouraged to take initiative to automate tasks and solve problems in the production process through diligent analysis. An important part of this job is to be able to clearly communicate technical findings to non-technical teammates.

What you will do:

  • Monitor and analyze delayed samples
  • Analyze turnaround time metrics to improve general efficiency
  • Develop lab information system requirements for new assays and lab sites
  • Coordinate assay retirements
  • Build policies, documents, and software, and conduct analysis, to support the responsibilities above
  • Workflow development
  • Software development
  • Efficiency and SLA analysis

What you bring:

  • Flexible schedule, including being able to commit to periodic weekend support
  • Experience manipulating data and troubleshooting applications in UNIX environments
  • Experience writing scripts (e.g. Python, R)
  • Superb communication skills and working in cross-disciplinary teams
  • Detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Preferred: Hands-on molecular biology wet lab experience
  • Preferred: Familiarity with lab information management
  • Preferred: Background in life sciences
  • Preferred: Python software development experience (e.g. Flask)
  • Preferred: Database query languages (SQL, datalog) experience
  • Preferred: Bash scripting
