Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Data Officer is responsible for developing and implementing HealthVerity’s end-to-end data management strategy and operations to support the largest, most diverse data ecosystem in the U.S. This critical role demands a proven data and technology leader with progressive experience in the healthcare industry. As an agent of change and part of the leadership team, you will drive best-in-class:


Data integration: Deploying HealthVerity tools with new data partners and onboarding of partner data

Data operations: Ongoing data ingestion, normalization, and warehousing

Data quality and governance: Monitoring and governing enterprise data intake and management at scale to ensure quality and accuracy of data

Data delivery: Enabling data usability, rapid availability, and efficiency

Enterprise innovation: Driving enterprise digital transformation innovation, enabling new data products to drive revenue growth, cost reduction


Day-To-Day

•Manage the end-to-end data pipeline, including the onboarding of new data sources, ongoing data operations, and data delivery

•Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive data quality processes 

•Hire, retain and develop an innovative, fast-paced and focused team of data management and engineering professionals 

•Collaborate with executive stakeholders to understand and translate company strategies into near and long-term data operations and quality initiatives and roadmap

•Protect partner and customer data, company IP, and vital internal systems through strong Enterprise Information Security planning and governance

•Be a transformation agent to streamline operations and enhance employee and customer data interface experiences 

•Partnering with the CTO, advise and recommend advancements in data technology, infrastructure, and information security

•Drive continuous improvement, best practices and efficient operating metrics

•Support the data needs of analytics teams and internal reporting on products, customers, operations, and markets

•Develop and support labor models to facilitate company growth including identifying and managing outsourcing partners if appropriate

•Partner with the software engineering teams to develop internal and external tools 

•Interact with data partners and clients as needed to drive deeper relationships, resolve complex customer issues, and understand data partner and client roadmaps


Your Knowledge

•Sophisticated understanding of complex data management, include advanced data architecture and data management principles to build and master a single integrated enterprise data set

•Deep knowledge of relevant healthcare data sources including but not limited to pharmacy, medical claims, EMR/EHR, lab data and other source types

•Experience understanding the needs of RWE /RWD, clinical and commercial analytics teams and how HealthVerity data can support their studies

•Understanding of current-state data privacy and security tools and methods


Your Skills

•Strong leadership and management skills to create and drive high performing teams

•Ability to identify and access the latest methodologies, technology trends, and systems

•Ability to successfully identify and resolve situations that are broadly scoped, complex, and diverse

•Previous change management experience and the ability to transform organizations across multiple levels with rapid success

•Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills

•Experienced partnering across leadership teams to successfully drive accelerated initiatives


Preferred Experience

•15+ years of prior experience and proven track record in IT strategic leadership with an emphasis on high-complexity data management

•Experience building and leading national or international IT teams 

•Solid experience with and understanding of SaaS, Information Security, and integration of IT systems, including from M&A activity

•Experience working in high-growth, high-complexity environments
