Position Overview

Avantus is seeking a Business Analyst/User Acceptance Testing Analyst to provide agile project management/product owner support. This includes participating and facilitating agile management activities; developing/grooming business user stories; maintaining the product backlog; facilitating requirements discussions; analyzing business needs to identify process improvements; developing and leading user acceptance testing; reviewing existing policies and regulation for changes; and developing briefings and reports in support of the ACE Collections government leadership.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed research in order to translate business requirements into precise, high quality features and user stories.
  • Work with the project team and business stakeholders to develop, define, and fully elaborate features, user stories, and wireframes for future releases and sprints.
  • Validate key business requirements are captured as part of the user stories and that user stories meet the "definition of ready" (fully elaborated with acceptance criteria, etc.).
  • Maintain an up-to-date backlog of features and user stories for future sprints.
  • Work with users to define concepts and clarify requirements under the direction of project manager and/or team lead(s).
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, data/document analysis, requirements/visioning workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, product backlog development, use case modeling and scenarios, and business process analysis.
  • Analyze business needs to identify new processes or process improvements that will meet those needs.
  • Lead development and implementation of user acceptance testing and associated testing materials (e.g., test plan, test scripts)
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing sessions and document findings
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and other data; identifies relationships, sensitivities, and trends; and develops insights and recommendations based on findings.
  • Perform research, studies, analyses, assessments, and/or surveys.
  • Help inform decision making through presentations, data visualizations, trackers.
  • Work closely with cross-functional agile project teams and help drive projects across the product design, development, and testing.
  • Support development of release specific training and communications plans.
  • Assist with development of training materials, guides, logistics and communications.
  • Support implementation of the training and communications plan, including training delivery and communications messaging
  • Assists in the preparation of milestone status reports and briefings.
  • Contribute to project plans



Required Qualifications

  • Minimum - Bachelors + 3 years of work experience
  • Holds a current Public Trust or clearance
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Production Owner (CSPO) - desired, not required
  • Excellent communications skills (written/verbal)
  • Meeting facilitation experience
  • Agile experience
  • Business process oriented
  • User acceptance training (front end)
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence - desired, not required
