Positions in this function work in the analysis phase of the system development cycle and consult with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. This function also is intended to include those that also may define business processes.
Work directly with end users to resolve application issues and answer questions. Supports the clinical delivery system by ensuring the application is optimized and the users are utilizing the application correctly. Analyze system development and consult with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and investigate issues
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve problems
  • Investigate non-standard requests and problems
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines
  • Ticket management - issues reported by developers or end users
  • Rotational on- call support required which includes nights and weekends
  • Create and maintains documentation
  • Serve as primary IT resource for small to medium-size projects
  • Work with business segments to better define project requirements for development and implementation
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Work with developers to get projects developed and implemented
  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of years of experience in Practice Management implementation, support and upgrade
  • 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into a detailed design specification
  • HL7 experience
  • Proficient with SQL
  • Experience with providing IT resources for small to medium projects
  • Experience defining project requirements for development and implementation
  • Experience translating requirements into technical specifications
  • Working with developers to get projects developed and implemented
  • Candidate to be based in Arizona
  • Up to 50% local travel in Phoenix and Tucson (mileage reimbursement available)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • UnitedHealth Group or subsidiary work experience
  • Practice Management support experience including scheduling build, billing, EDI Transactions (835,837)
  • Experience documenting workflows and processes
  • Previous experience with error management with interfaced applications
  • Intermediate experience working with Microsoft office suites including Access, Visio
  • Experience working with Sql Studio Management Studio
  • Previous experience supporting: Allscripts Touchworks, Allscripts Practice Management, Allscripts SSRS Reporting, and/or working with (CIE) common interface engine systems (Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, ConnectR)
  • SSMS experience
  • HL7 experience working with interface engines (Rhapsody Preferred)
  • Configuration experience on System Configuration
