Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for product planning and at times technical project/task execution for products in the team's portfolio. The Business Systems Analyst is the voice of the customer, representing internal stakeholders and the Product Manager while driving prioritization of their backlog. The Business Systems Analyst will solve business problems by analyzing business needs, understanding requirements, investigating potential solutions, ensuring the successful launch of new products/features, and managing products throughout their entire lifecycle. The ideal individual candidate will be able to facilitate discussions and lead the execution of tasks that help the organization provide best in class solutions supported by a solid foundation of governance and strategy.

Location

This position will be based out of one of our Kiewit Business offices in Omaha, NE. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Solicits requirements by identifying a desired future state that addresses a business problem
  • Articulates requirements to the lowest level of detail that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives and project success
  • Configure systems to support Business requirements, where applicable
  • Provide accurate effort estimates for business analyst tasks, assisting others where needed
  • Assess solution options and prioritize competing business demands
  • Manage relationships with business partners to drive satisfaction with IT
  • Consult on product lifecycle management
  • Create product process and integration maps
  • Recognize and participate in the management of the Product(s) lifecycle from strategic planning through support and decommissioning
  • Contribute to the recommendation and implementation of Product best practices and toolsets to increase quality results and service bandwidth
  • Contributes to Business Case and ROI efforts
  • Work collaboratively with other Business and IT Product and Support Teams to ensure communications, transparently integrated processes and seamless support delivery
  • Identify and address critical issues that could impact the fit and quality of solutions and escalate as needed
  • Participate in product-related project plans, resources, and deliverables to defined timelines and scope
  • Assist in advising and guiding colleagues on any aspect of the Product, including training for other IT product or support teams, and business partners where appropriate
  • Design and deploy business solutions using the most appropriate tool available



Communication

  • Partner with and gain buy-in from stakeholders and users to create cohesion and clear communication
  • Participate in product and project meetings, serving as the voice of stakeholders and users
  • Communicate the business value of features and deliverables to the team
  • Lead and oversee the creation of end-user training material and marketing-type communications for and about the product
  • Serve as a product spokesperson at meetings and events involving stakeholders and end users
  • Work cross-functionally with other product teams to ensure decisions are aligned with the overall technology strategy



Qualifications

  • 0 - 3 years' experience in an Information Technology or related role
  • Demonstrated success at defining business needs conducting vendor analysis and launching successful products
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed
  • Demonstrate initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and have critical conversations with customers and stakeholders. regarding business value and customer experience
  • Understanding of and experience with the software development life cycle
  • Understanding of the Agile Framework and software development practices preferred
  • Recognize, assess, and mitigate risks to committed deliverables and timelines
  • Clearly communicate progress and risk to all levels of leadership
  • Analyze and document complex business processes
  • Make effective decisions under pressure
  • Think analytically and be a problem solver
  • Gather and interpret relevant data and information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders, in appropriate media and form



Bonus Points

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology discipline preferred
  • Experienced in the Microsoft 365 suite of tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive preferred
