Overview

The Business Systems Analyst III provides system support for complex business processes, issues, and projects for servicing related software applications used by multiple business departments. These responsibilities include the gathering and documenting of requirements to facilitate enhancements, changes and/or fixes within the Servicing Systems applications. Additional support includes application configuration and maintenance, systems testing, and end-user production support. The Business Systems Analyst III will be involved throughout the software development life-cycle as the requirements subject matter expert and is expected to take ownership for the delivery of the solution. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst III will provide both technical and functional support to the end-users and will have an advanced understanding of the business processes and how those processes relate to the associated business applications.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on the business needs, a thorough understanding of business systems, and industry standards
  • Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements and recommend innovative solutions
  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation of business solutions in accordance with company and organizational strategies
  • Develop and manage relationships with business, internal and external IT partners to provide technology based solutions to business needs
  • Perform intermediate level analysis to creatively solve problems
  • Support development, QA and UAT activities as it pertains to system functionality throughout the project life-cycle
  • Identify application risks, impacts, options and recommendations for mitigation
  • Create and maintain process flows, component diagrams and detailed process functionality
  • Maintain advanced level technical and functional awareness and competence of support business applications and organizational and industry technology standards
  • Capable of acting as a liaison by relating business issues to internal and external ITS partners, and relating technology solutions to business customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures



Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (eg, ISO , NIST, FFIEC, etc)
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Working knowledge of all system applications
  • Working knowledge of the consumer loan business


Skills

  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
  • Experience with SQL
  • Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
  • Deadline oriented
  • Experience with data visualization concepts and tools
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision


Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred


Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in an IT environment and respective business area in analyzing and implementing applications systems required


Working Conditions

  • Subject to stressful situations
  • Possibility of working long hours including weekends/holidays may be required
  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs
