About the team
On the Strategy team, our mission is to develop & hone the business and corporate strategy of one of the fastest growing insurance SaaS companies and shepherd the execution of that strategy. Led by Snapsheet’s co-founder, the Strategy team sits at the nexus of critical organizations inside Snapsheet, ensuring that insights, analysis, & information exchanged among sales, marketing, product, tech, operations & the executive team inform go-to-market and corporate strategy. As both thought-partners & execution-partners to our cross-functional stakeholders, we help build the work plans, operations, & processes in each of those organizations to achieve objectives aligned with the company’s overall strategy.
About the role
As a Business Strategy Lead at Snapsheet you will make an impact helping the executive team identify and execute multiple strategic initiatives to help Snapsheet grow, scale and drive operating efficiencies. You will work directly with the management, enabling you to move quickly & drive cross-functional impact wherever it is needed. As a leader, you will work cross-functionally to create strategic plans, and make an impact by helping drive the execution of these plans from start to finish. In addition to sharp analytical skills, strong communication skills are critical to your success, as you will be a key leader in implementing the innovative opportunities you identify that span every business and product line across Snapsheet.
The Business Strategy Lead should feel comfortable working across multiple disciplines, from strategy to finance to operations. These new initiatives will blend technology, AI/ML, SaaS, operations and process automation together in myriad ways to create differentiating and sustainable competitive differentiators for Snapsheet.
Key responsibilities for the Business Strategy Lead:
- Lead as the key owner of critical strategic initiatives by: identifying priorities, strategically aligning their time for execution, and revisiting priorities regularly to assess progress
- Work directly with both the Chief Strategy Officer & functional leaders to identify priority objectives e.g., expanding gross margins of a product by widely commercializing an innovation Snapsheet created for one client
- Develop a plan-of-attack to execute the initiative, coordinating & aligning all stakeholders to both high-level & detailed work plans
- Act as the overall owner of achieving the initiative’s strategic targets, including re-prioritizing work plans & directly contributing to execution as resourcing or strategic needs shift during the course of execution
- Coordinate the execution & continuous refining of an initiative business strategy, ensuring all internal and external stakeholders are aligned and advancing against strategic objectives
- Embrace the role of a strategic driver by crafting the agenda of all meetings to to ensure all meetings drive towards the objective: E.g., all meetings are anchored to materials that participants can react to and drive iteration of the next version
- Track the progress of all participants against their individual objectives & communicate progress or roadblocks clearly to the executive team & to stakeholders
- Provide regular line-of-sight to the executive team into shifting priorities, progress, & the strategic rationale for all work
- Fully own the outcome of each initiative, iterating & refining continuously by: tracking initiative’s success at achieving targets, investigating ways to improve or change the process to better achieve targets, & working with internal and external stakeholders to drive the next iteration of the initiative
- Regularly follow-up with stakeholders to gauge the success of the initiative against the original objectives
- Drive to insight on how shifting strategic priorities set by the executive team and / or Strategy impact completed initiatives or in-flight initiatives
- Build the next version: assess opportunity areas to refine the initiative, prioritize areas, develop plans-of-attack, & secure cross-functional alignment on how to execute
Qualifications of the Business Strategy Lead:
- 2 - 5 years management / strategy consulting experience at a top tier firm
- Superior project management & change management skills
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Sharp analytical skills with Excel or other modeling capabilities
- Comfortable with large data sets and demonstrated ability to drive insights from analytics
- Educational credentials commensurate with a strong and successful background in management / strategy consulting
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA preferred, but not required
