Business Resilience Analyst - Remote

This is an exciting remote position in Pearson's OrganisationalRiskand Resilience function. The person we will select for this role is already a resilienceprofessional who can engage and deliver at senior management level. It could also be an individual who is currently active in the digital resilience space and involved in risk mitigation of digital offerings.

The successful US-based candidate will report to the Global Business Resilience Director in the UK and will be responsible for the co-ordination of business continuity management (BCM) activities utilising their management, interpersonal and influencing skills as well as their operational knowledge. The successful candidate is a self-starting individual who is a strong team player yet independently achieves desired outcomes. This is a mid-level position.

Accountability

This role is wide-ranging and has responsibility for managing and delivering predominantly the US aspect of the PearsonBusiness Resilienceprogram. As Pearson continues to move further into the digital space with the learner at the heart of everything it does and a huge amount of business change caused by disruption be it technology, regulation or the broader environment, helping our stakeholders identify and address their risks is the purpose of this role. Responsibilities will include to assess risk, business impact and actual disruption; to plan, build and embed roadmaps and resiliency capabilities, and to test and assure the resiliency capability of the internal client or business partner.

For their remit, the candidate will:

  • Ensure governanceand compliance against the global Business Resilience policy, which is aligned to industry ISO standard 22301
  • Influence local policies, standards and strategic direction by advocating the program
  • In partnership with relevant stakeholders, advise, deliver and promote resiliency excellence across our mission critical and business critical digital product and online platform estate where the customer and learner are key
  • Work closely with business leadersensuring resiliency requirements are pro-actively followed and identifying areas for continual improvement by overseeing reviews of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business recovery planning
  • Deliver best practices in resiliency excellence across digital transformation initiatives through collaboration and influencing
  • Ensure plans and incident management capabilities are embedded and exercised
  • Support due diligenceprograms and the auditing of critical third-party vendors
  • Disseminate knowledge, raise awareness and act as a conduit of information acrossstakeholders and interested parties. This will include knowledge on ISO 22301
  • Provide BCM/ITDR expertise and management direction on new company initiatives
  • Prepare management information
  • Directly support colleagues in our Organisational Risk and Resilience team, as they will support you
  • Take on Duty Officer responsibility on a rotation basis
  • Travel within the US and internationally as necessary (up to 20%)


What you will need to succeed

Skills & Experience

  • 5 years experience in business continuity, business resilience or risk management
  • Familiarity with international Business Continuity standard ISO 22301:2019
  • Facilitating desktop-scenario exercises and organising tests
  • ITDR implementation and experience desirable including performing 'hands-on' BCM/ITDR reviews and assessments of business operations
  • Experience in delivering digital product offerings and/or customer communications for such offerings would be an advantage
  • Broad understanding of IT infrastructure from both a cloud and on-prem perspective
  • IT service architecture experience and understanding
  • Operational Resilience/Business Resilience
  • Ability to independently handle and prioritise multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Business and global acumen
  • Strong delivery experience and track record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management experience


Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • ISO 22301 Auditor or similar
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent
  • Experience in managing incidents
  • Experience in other Risk Management areas e.g. ISO27001/Supply Chain
