Job Description
Within defined guidelines and frameworks, consults with the business to understand and define opportunities and recommends solutions by analyzing data and providing key insights to advise decisions. Provides insights on all matters of business analytical or operational data needs. Works closely with enterprise and business process owners to integrate data analytics into business processes to improve business performance.

The Bank Data Platform team has a unique niche between users of bank data, the DBAs, database security and IT. This team is here to enable and monitor a successful Snowflake querying experience regardless of the query tool used.

Small team of individuals that are specializing in cloud warehouse monitoring, access monitoring and building out Tableau reporting that deliver insights for executives and for end users. Business Intelligence tools used are centered around cloud computing and contain the Snowflake UI, Dremio, Python and SAS.

This position is a Hybrid position if within a commutable distance to the Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL, and San Antonio, TX, offices. Remote Opportunity is not available for those not located within a commutable distance.

Job Requirements

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled.
  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
  • Supports data reporting, analytics and project deliverables based on needs of the department
  • As needed, builds tactical data sets and automation to optimize and resolving business issues for assigned deliverables.
  • Performs routine compilation, analysis, reporting and provides initial recommendations of data to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develops subject matter knowledge to interpret requirements to advise business partners on ad hoc or undefined matters related to business analytics and decision support solutions.
  • Supports team members in delivering and growing efficiency and effectiveness of the reporting needs.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of business processes, supporting data and applications and strategic direction.
  • Develops consulting skills by working with teammates to define the problem, provide insights into what happened and when.
  • Develops proven understanding of relationship between analytics and business processes to improve delivery, value, and integration of analytics into business/enterprise processes

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related degree discipline required; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Up to 2 years reporting and/or data management experience with knowledge of data and reporting concepts along with exposure to applicable tools and languages: SQL, Python, SAS, Tableau).

Preferred Experience:
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (Snowflake)
  • Basic coding and reporting skills (SQL and Tableau are desired)
  • Basic knowledge of business documentation (requirements, report write ups)

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $48,800 - $87,900.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
