Company Description

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. With a mission to redefine the world's relationship with money by making it more relatable, available and accessible, at Cash App you'll have the opportunity to make a real-world impact with your career.

  • Manage individual projects by coordinating directly with the company’s internal data teams
  • Set and hold your team to a high bar: has a proven track record of driving results of engineering teams in highly-regulated, high-stress, fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL: schema and ETL design, query optimization, data pipeline maintenance, data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mode)
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming for data mining, modeling, and ETL development (Python preferred)
  • Ability to proactively define the long-term vision and strategy that will offer the correct data to support our external data requests, unlocking key data visibility and insights
  • Bachelor's degree required, with major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, or other technical field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience in product/support analytics and business operations
  • 2+ years experience in people management

Bonus:

  • Experience in leading engineering teams responsible for external data reporting
