Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to execute reporting, transformation, automation, and visualization solutions for our HR partners. Our corporate hub sites are located in Plantation, Boston, Minneapolis, and Bellevue. In this role, you will serve as the senior BIE delivering challenging HR reporting projects end-to-end. You will report to the Associate Director of HR Business Intelligence and partner with our internal leadership team to design, develop, and deliver quality products that support business insights. You will upskill the junior BIE team members in capabilities in coding and dashboard design and development in a mentorship capacity. You will lean in with our data enablement team when needed to script custom data structures within our sandbox environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and operation of large-scale data requirements, reports, dashboards, and BI solutions.
  • Perform complex development by leveraging large data sets from multiple systems producing quality, scalable products.
  • Think creatively to find optimal solutions to our challenging data environment. Leverage problem solving skills in data structuring and debugging.
  • Contribute to automating, standardizing, and publishing key dashboards, using reporting/analytics tools (Tableau), to help disseminate data and insights to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Land and transform data using our ETL methodology both from data sources into our data mart environment as well as from our data mart environment into Tableau.
  • Collaborate within the People Analytics team and leadership teams across the HR enterprise.
  • Act as a mentor to other members of the HRBI team upskilling them in capabilities and adopting standard industry best practices.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Information Management or a related degree with analytical emphasis, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or other related data visualization/reporting development.
  • 7+ years’ experience using SQL.
  • 7+ years’ experience using Python, R, or other programming languages.
  • 7+ years’ experience with data transformation tools such as Alteryx or Knime.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills, the ability to visualize complex data sets and provide dynamic solutions and be self-driven.
  • Experience in end-to-end dashboard delivery, including intake, design, testing, and debugging.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to translate between technical and business languages, bring forward a vision or opinion. Ability to influence and communicate technical content to non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with ability to design and develop solutions to meet business needs creatively.
  • Comfort with leading multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize decisions and tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Advanced degrees in Business Intelligence, Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with statistical models and building predictive models from scratch.
