• Utilizes a rigorous design methodology that consistently yields the right level of technical design documentation and develops technical solutions that conform both to customer requirements and information development standards.
• Curious and passionate about building value-creating and innovative dashboards and reports.
• Designing, implementing, and supporting a platform that can provide access to enterprise self-service reporting.
• Be an active member in the Agile team to collaborate and to help shape requirements and development.
• Works as equals with Data Engineers, Quality Engineers, BI Developers and Business Analysts to establish optimal design/development/delivery which properly serves technical teams and our user community. Identifies risks, tradeoffs, and investment decisions to facilitate best approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and project plans.

• Design and develop complex reports/dashboards and standardize to generate insights and address business needs.
• Proactively identify visualization performance and data quality problems and drive to remediate them.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to translate ambiguous business requirements into complex analyses and actionable insights
• Aptitude for refining informal business analytical requirements to help move beyond the simple ask and surface the underlying "why"

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area such as math, statistics, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience with Tableau(preferred), SSRS, Power BI, Amazon Quick Sight or other data visualization tools
• 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries against multiple RDBMS platforms such as, Amazon Redshift, Athena, Mongo DB, SQL Server and Oracle.
• Author complex SQL queries required to merge disparate sets of data
• Experience in Business Intelligence design and development, UI/UX best practices.
• Design and implement reports that leverages advanced visualization techniques (Scatter Plots, Histograms, Heat Maps, Tree Maps, Box-and-Whisker Plots, etc...) to best convey KPIs.
• Experience with scheduling tools like Airflow and ActiveBatch.
• Experience in collecting and documenting business requirements, meeting with business users, and providing them with consultation on optimal reporting solutions.
• Understanding of software development process and practices with an emphasis on Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM).
• Ability to work autonomously and with small cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills including technical documentation, development and delivery of demonstrations and presentations and the ability to listen and communicate effectively with functional leaders.

It would be nice if you had:

• Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Experience in scripting languages like R, PowerShell and Python.
• Experience with emerging tools like Elastic, AWS OpenSearch, Hosted Graphite or Grafana.
• Experience in airline / aviation, internet, or telecommunications
