Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Remote, USA

Purpose Statement:

The Business Intelligence Developer is an integral part of the team responsible for creating and maintaining the BI infrastructure, supporting users, and promoting best practices. Analytics combines data analysis, data visualization, and reporting capabilities to uncover actionable information and deliver it to executives, managers, and business associates. Our team partners with analysts, business, and technical owners to provide accurate and secure data; powerful, easy to use, and highly available tools; and insightful analysis for decision support.

Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Provide primary, first tier support to business and technical communities
  • Supporting existing solutions
  • Ad hoc reporting, querying and analysis
  • Managing access permissions to sensitive data/information
  • Data collection, retrieval, and preparation
  • Participate in data architecture design and analytical model development
  • Collaborate with business associates to define data analysis and reporting requirements
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data and visualization outputs
  • Analyze complex data systems to develop accurate, automated, and reusable solutions
  • Work within IDT's standards of development lifecycle, testing and validation, documentation, and security
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of BI tools and solutions
  • Solve problems through analysis of potential solutions using technical experience
  • Participate in and contribute to interdepartmental and cross-functional projects

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education, Licensure, Certification, Registration:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related subject or equivalent experience/certifications required


Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years technical experience with SQL/T-SQL required
  • 2 or more years of reporting development or data visualization experience required; MS BI Tools preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of relational database design and BI architecture, core concepts, methods, and best practices required
  • Intermediate technical knowledge and familiarity with BI Tools and applications required; SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, and Azure Synapse preferred

  • Interested in confronting the challenges with large, complex data sets
  • Desire to become a subject-matter expert in one or more areas of IDT's data domains
  • Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop productive business relationships and communicate clearly and professionally, in person and remotely
  • Ability to work in a team environment, remain attentive to ideas, recognize responsibilities, and maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation with colleagues to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals
  • Desire to continuously seek improvement and adopt a dynamic work approach
