Our Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate with others of the Performance Analytics team to understand Bind data and the ways in which it can drive the democratization of access to business-critical analytics for internal stakeholders (product development, actuarial, marketing). Focus, understanding of healthcare data, interest in data visualization, critical thinking, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a dedication to excellence are all personal characteristics highly valued by Bind. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Use SQL to design, build, and organize data for analytical purposes
  • Support short and long-term business intelligence projects using quantitative approaches and tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or R)
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analytic requests from internal stakeholders by mining data using SQL, business intelligence tools, and claims databases
  • Support short and long-term business intelligence projects using quantitative approaches and tools (excel, SQL, Python or R) to help build repeatable reporting assets
  • Independently mine claims and digital data to clearly understand capabilities and limitations of the data for analyses
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver results along with interpretation and explanation
  • Participate in technical documentation of analytics and results
  • Support review of internal and external deliverables for accuracy (QA)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to assist with the design and build of interactive dashboards within our Business Intelligence tool, Looker, considering product functionality and data structure

Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of training or knowledge of health care data, especially claims data
  • Experience with Data query and analysis skills, including tools like R,
  • Experience with Python, SQL, SAS, STATA or other analysis and BI tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Looker (Bind's Business Intelligence application) or other BI application preferred but not required
  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar quantitative field
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a highly dynamic environment, strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail
  • Unique balance of disciplined analytical thinking, creative passion, and a willingness to be hands-on
  • Quick learner interested in a deep understanding of how data fits together to help guide business decisions

  • Passion for data visualization that helps users have quick and actionable access to important information

  • Ability to translate analytic requests into data specifications based on data availability and limitations, developing data solutions to support analyses, and performing analysis

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $58,800 to $104,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
