Job Overview
The Business Insights Analyst II at AvidXchange is a unique position that will be tantamount to accomplishing transforming the organization towards a data driven first culture. A Business Insights Analyst II will work with a wide variety of data sources here at AvidXchange to come up with insights that the business can use. At AvidXchange, the Business Insights and Data Science team is a shared service model with a scope that spans the entire organization; as a result, this position is consultative in nature and wide varying in terms of projects an analyst would be expected to take on.
Job Responsibilities
• Understand business process to effectively generate insights from data instead of generating reports
• Create business cases for prospective projects that comprehensively identify value, scope, and resourcing
• Ability to deliver on deadlines for project roadmaps and help create milestones for roadmaps
• Individual should have the ability to proactively identify issues in the organization that might go un-noticed and drive engaging conversation around those issues
As part of Avidxchange's drive towards a data driven culture, a Business Insights Analyst II will be asked to deliver a large volume of work with insightful commentary.
• Use SQL - either within a local environment (SQL Server) or on the cloud (Azure, Databricks, HD Insight) - to pull together data and transform it; subqueries, temporary tables, and unions are all expected
• Work with internal Business Intelligence team members to transform SQL queries into datasets that can be replicated and used within dashboards and reporting
• Individual should be a true analyst that is comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and forming their own insights that can be presented back to stakeholders
Communication is one of the most crucial aspects of the Business Insights Analyst II in terms of setting expectations and helping key stakeholders know exactly where a project rests:
• Ability to create concise emails that communicate insights to team members
• Individual should communicate to internal team members at a regular cadence on in-flight projects
• Ability to communicate proactively and identify any gaps in definitions across company or risks
Required Qualifications
• 1-3 years of industry experience in a highly analytical environment ideally in accounting, finance or consulting firm
• Ideally with Background in Finance, Accounting and/or working within Treasury departments,
• Certainly, interested in payments, money movement operations, finance and operations intersection with data driven insights and tools.
• Advanced practice with SQL
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced knowledge of BI software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Familiarity with coding languages of Python or R a plus
