Position Summary

TaxAct, a subsidiary of Blucora and sister company to Avantax Wealth Management and Avantax Planning Partners, is seeking a Business Development Operations (BD Ops) Analystthat will manage all the reporting and analytics tasks as it relates to TaxAct's affiliate and data partners that market/resell TaxAct's tax prep software to their audiences or enable TaxAct to import financial data into its tax prep experience. The ideal candidate enjoys putting together clean-looking spreadsheets, tying out numbers, meeting deadlines, and demonstrates a strong ability at drawing strategic insights from partner performance data. This role is a foundational role with the opportunity to graduate to different/higher roles within the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Owning Partner Performance Reporting:

  • Establishing and optimizing scalable reporting processes for multiple partners.
  • Tracking performance across various affiliate and data partner channels.
  • Working with affiliate and data partners to understand reporting expectations.
  • Delivering clean detailed performance reports to all partners on a weekly or monthly basis.



Managing Partner Invoicing and Payments:

  • Working with partners to confirm payment terms, methods, and processes for all partners.
  • Communicating the preferred payment methods for new partners to internal teams during setup.
  • Gathering necessary partner financial details/documentation and ensuring complete payment process set up with accounting team.
  • Tracking commission payments for all partners across the entire year.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of payments against contractually obligated payment terms to maintain good standing with all partnerships.
  • Collaborate with broader business development, consumer marketing, finance, creative, and legal teams to ensure that all strategies, tactics, and outcomes are aligned to ensuring a strong and successful relationship with our partners.
  • Schedule and review tax season performance annually with all partners.
  • Analyze performance data across all partner channels to help BD and Marketing teams identify opportunities to optimize promotional offer strategies and performance.
  • Routinely review and analyze data sets to ensure data integrity, discover issues, and work with internal stakeholders to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain processes and best practices around data entry, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update the documentation to define reporting processes.
  • Managing ad hoc reporting and other related duties as they arise.

  • Actively identify topics/functions of interest to research.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with GPA of 3.0 or higher (screening will require proof via transcript).



Your Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • You aren't scared of numbers and are able to see what they are trying to tell you.
  • You can write an email that isn't too long, you grammar/spell check every time and everyone gets the information they need.
